ACTUALLLLLlllyyyyy lol
EVERYTHING SENT AND RECEIVED ON THE INTERNET IS TRACEABLE....phones are just a little easier.
Simply put. The second you post something on this website (or anything on the internet) and you press sent/post/go/add/etc.) Everything is sent over the internet in the form of a PACKET
A PACKET is simply "boxed" data like you picture or a site you want to goto, that is sent from one network to another network (when you type
www.google.com and hit enter.
BUT DUDE! The internet is enormous! How in the world does that packet find its way?
WELL. without writing out a wiki page.
A packet is normally made of of 3 parts, Header, Payload(data), Trailer.
The important one for this post is HEADER!!!!
Header is where you get caught.
The header contains things such as Length of a packet, a sync, Packet number (to keep noumours packets in order when sending) protocal, DESTINATION ADDRESS, ORIGINATING ADRESS.
When I mean address were talking about your MAC ADDRESS and IP ADDRESS.
As you can see IF you were a cop or nerd you could easily triangulate or get the info from the ISP for legal reasons.
HOW DO I FIX THIS?
Well really only 3 things you can do to prevent this.
1) VPN - Virtual Private Networks - These sites/places spoof your IP so you can "securely" browse the web.
2) Spoof your mac address. Theres tools such as Backtrack 5 and Net Tools 5
HOWEVER even with these measures a real hacker and decrypt even an encrypted packet.
Simply put there is no such thing as secure unless your on a Fiber Optic.
