I'm not sure if any of you have heard of Chris Mars, but I stumbled across his works. I was wondering if any of you might have opinions on this art? Here is a link to his website: http://www.chrismarspublishing.com/home.htmI really like his art, so I hope some of you guys will enjoy it The Unknown = A Place to Learn

Wow this guy really embraces the dark side huh. Creepy and awesome! Some of the works perfectly convey a certain feeling that I currently don't have the word for.

I know what you mean! In his statements he talks a lot about schizophrenia, and I can see a big reference to this is some of his artwork. Which seems to create an emotion of vast mystery in his art. I've always enjoyed Chris's work, even though I wouldn't necessarily hang it up in my house. He definitely captures the dark trip space, and does it in a way that invites close inspection.
It's easy to make ugly art. Much more challenging is the task of making dark art beautiful. Chris's rendering gives his characters a vibrancy and life despite their dark qualities.
If you like his stuff, try looking up Chet Zar and Zadislaw Beksinski. Zar is a contemporary of Mars, about the same age, and has done interesting things in both paint and digital. Beksinski's stuff is just absolutely epic, on par with H.R.Giger.
