Visionary art is not simply a genre- it is a movement...
We are hacking culture and reprogramming the future generations to evolve into a peaceful civilization...
If you guys haven't checked it out already, Threyda.com is showing some great visionary art right now... including my latest offerings....

Sweet! I love it how you create atmosphere in your paintings, and I love finding hidden meanings within them.

And I agree on the hacking culture thing, words may fall on deaf ears but art will always have that subtle subconscious impact on people. Like McKenna said "How can we fight back? ....by creating ART!"

Those are impressive works of art. Would there still be signed prints available for the Waiting for Rain or Opening The Heart Chakra? Would love to add one to my wall!

Hacking culture: a very interesting and intriguing idea. It seems to me that idea itself presents the notion that we as human being are "hacking" or trying to outsmart the very nature that drives human kind. Culture is almost a responds to this nature, we must interact as human beings in our nature, so therefor we create this culture. But it seems to me that there is a second "need" in the human nature, and that is to dominate or over come physical and metaphysical desires, such as the need to create culture on more complex levels. This "hacking" seems to say that we are trying to outsmart ourselves in the sense that we must subconsciously direct ourselves in a path that we consciously don't want to be lead in.

Hacking entails the idea of a negative and controlling "overcoming" force. This seems to say that we are negatively effecting ourselves.

I know this pertains to nothing within the post, which I found very interesting, but I felt the need to express.

Hopefully this stimulates some thought Smile

Everything we do is our nature. It is that hacking that makes us human, I believe. I think we MUST hack, or over-ride, the dumbing-down conditioning that are "masters" have imposed on us. The docile sheep lets the masters trim its wool... and eat its flesh. We must counteract the negative influence with positive. Balance.

Dankity- There are signed prints of both of those images in matte AND canvas right now.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

Looks great Jake. This page has the wrong title at the top, just FYI. (The painting is Forest Thinking not Night Vision).

Do you ever show your work in the PNW?

IMHO, metaprogramming via evolution is the "hacking" we are doing on culture en mass. Kinda like the max planck quote-

“A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it. ”

The same goes for the dogmatic beliefs and self destructive behavior mutating our culture, or possibly being "hacked" by manipulative powers.

The point being is that its evolution happening rapidly. Peoples minds have been changing faster and faster at realizing our flaws and finding solutions, and realizing that the dogmas from the past are just that and need to be cast aside.

Eventually the enlightened that see the limitless benefit from casting aside dogma and embracing the need for change, will out number those that hack the system to try and hang on to their illogic and the benefit it gives them in some cases.

The ability and desire for people to culturally evolve into something better than what we have has been accelerating faster and faster as we have moved through history imho, the last 200 years especially, eerily reminiscent of TMK's timewave zero concept.

Newer generations will see the error/mistakes of the older ones, and evolve to fix our problems. Evolve culturally and intellectually as to embracing whats possible, and what limits us and how we can change that. Other wise we have serious problems.

Either way, artists, scientists, psychologists, engineers, etc will all have their part.

But you could just listen to rush closer to the heart for a much more elegant way of saying what i just did Laughing.

Its evolution happening right before our eyes, a new dominant trait, fighting to replace the outdated and unsustainable ways of the previous.

Beautiful prints BTW. You say hacking i say metaprogram/evolve but its basically the same idea. Good to see an artist moving us closer to the heart. Smile

Keep up the good work!
"let those who have talked to the elves, find each other and band together" -TMK

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...
The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.” - Wendell Berry

Wow! These are awesome! I need to convince my wife to let me spend the money and get the Forest Thinking print. If she agrees, it's going up right along with my Alex Grey prints. Great work.

fundamentally, hacking is the practice of obtaining information from databases and other sources.
interpret that however you see fit.
