how long will the effects of the MAOI from smoking caapi leaf be present?
What is safe to eat during this time period?
For how long before smoking the caapi leaf should one avoid ingesting any unsafe substances?
Does the MAO inhibition last longer if a tea made from the caapi vine is drank?

I've read what you posted, this doesn't really answer my questions. A lot of contradictory information on what is/isn't safe to eat. If nothing else, I'd just like to know how long the MAOI affects the system for.

This page might also be interesting for you: Known substance-interactions and their effects

It shows the relative safety of drug interactions and their effects. Check for all the MAOI ones (not all are yet also located under the MAOI index).

Kind regards,

How does it not answer your question? You asked what is safe to eat, the link says that the safety issues with harmalas are misunderstood/exagerated , that you can eat mostly anything except for medication which might interact with MAOI. Recommendation is to eat light in general regardless of the MAOI issue, just like you would with any other oral psychedelic. Some people mention coffee and beer is no-go, better avoid that. Otherwise you're good to go.

Oral vine brew will probably indeed last longer in your system than vaporized caapi. In either case, just dont take interacting medication, and youre good.

Anything ese?

Some say 6 hours. Not sure how accurate that is, but sounds like a reasonable time.
The truth...lies within.

sorry endlessness I did read that part, however the contradictory info I was referring to was in the 2 links below. I guess I am just being over cautious. Thanks rjb, can anyone second this time period?
