so SWIM was making some 10x caapi leaf using the water boiling method evaped most of it on the stove. Now there is 5g leaf in a bowl with still a little bit of liquid (maybe 30ml). Should the leaf be spread out over a larger surface to dry or must it soak up the remaining liquid first? How long should this amount of leaf take to evap/dry completely?

When I'm doing it, once it gets "tacky" I take it out of the bowl and spread it out on paper. I leave it in the bowl until it's dry enough that none of the wetness will transfer onto the paper. You want as much of it as possible to stick to the plant material. It doesn't take long to dry, I use a hair dryer on it once there isn't must liquid left which really helps, but be careful not to blow it all over the place. If you do it start with the hair dryer pointing away from the bowl then move it slowly closer til you get is as close as you can without blowing it out of the bowl.

Hasn't taken me longer than a day to make it from start to finish.

ok thanks, yeah it didn't take that long it's spread out on paper now. wouldn't the leaf at the bottom of the bowl end up containing the majority of the extract?

yeah, it was mixed occasionally during evap. I guess time will tell if it was done correctly.
Is there any numbers on the average weight increase one should get?
