I think we should all have our brains scanned in an MRI machine for science

I'd like to have mine done at least, I guess you can't just walk into a hospital and ask for an MRI , right?

Out of curiosity what kind of doctor can order such a test?

Thanks man you make me laugth.
Anyway the comparaison between the brains of long time dmt users and people who never use chemicals will be interesting
I had a MRI few month ago because of violent headeak( i don't now how to write it) and the results was normal accords to my doctor.
Whatsoever , i dont know about your country , but here if you got the money you can have all the scan you want you dont need to be sick , but i think it's just a waste of time and money.

Speaking as a European (UK) I can go one step further and say that if I demanded an MRI I would get one free of charge. It may well be a waste of time, but I can see why the OP would think that giving all nexians (or all users of strong psychedelics) would be an interesting thing to do, since we all seem to think very differently from the majority of society, and seeing if there is a difference in how our minds are functioning on a physical level could be very interesting. I also agree that it could be a complete waste of time and yield nothing of interest.

Your family doctor can refer you to a psychiatrist/neurologist and they'll order the MRI. I doubt the results will shed much light on what's special about the nexians though.

From reading the forums, I gather that many of those posting have gone through some difficult phases in their lives, resulting in significant emotional trauma which, in turn, made them more open minded and willing to explore and accept. Maybe it's the reciprocal gene-environment theory at work.

I find it hard to believe that after a significant number of journeys that over time there wouldn't be physical changes to the brain.

Whether they could be measured by an MRI is another story.

I certainly do hope that psychedelics don't cause any significant changes to the brain. Also (and I probably got that wrong), my interpretation of the original post was that it was assuming there's something innately special about the nexians and their brains, which makes them more interested in this sort of exploration to begin with.

why? what would cause a physical change? i consider dmt to be more natural than lsd ( i believe dmt is made in your body regardless of what anyone says) and iv tripped so much acid i cant do it any more(at least 1000 hits) and there is no physical change from that iv been eating mdma for years and dont have any holes that any one can find lol.

i think if any physical change is made its in brain frequency for a short term or forever as i see more of a change of thought process than a physical change i dont know but not physically, if it was a physical change we would be "evolving" maybe useing more parts of the brain that have not been turned on your hole life. who knows but i dont think a MRI would show it.
please dont take anything i say seriously im extremely irresponsible and i apologize in advance for anything iv said.

I am able to have my brain scanned, it was offered but i rejected because i am cautious about the types of waves entering my brain.
I am diagnosed with psychosis but they think i may have electromagnetic hypersensitivity due to my constant hallucinations and sensitivity to frequencies and electricity.

I would just say no, whats the point in having your brain assessed when you can assess it yourself with dedication.

I think you're right.

I think what matters here is the changes perceived by the user him/herself.

Personally I highly doubt a brain scan would show a difference

I dunno, when I tried aya the other day it sounded like something poped in my brain. This happend about 5 times which sounded something like a clean break of a diamond or a crystal, the most sharp and piercing sound one could ever hear which also seemed to have some sort of pop to it. It's as if it opened up something special, either that or broke something lol. Also I get a frying sound most of the times I eat mushrooms which actually im a little afraid of......Shocked

Well duh! Didn't you listen when they told you drugs will fry your brain?
In all seriousness though, I have also heard the frying sound. It's quite creepy, I don't think we have anything to worry about though. It's probably just the mushroom using a laser to open up unused pathways in our brains...Cool

I don't understand why peeps here would be afraid of changing or altering their brain on some form of physical level. That is exactly what the brain is designed to do. It's built into it's very functioning. It's the very reason we struggle when first learning something and then do it with ease once well practiced. We literally forged a strong path of neural connections within our neural circuitry capable of handling the task with ease. In the beginning - those connections were either not there or weak. We also put far too much emphasis on potential "damage". Sure - actual "damage" is a valid concern, but frankly - the weakening and eventual atrophy of certain circuits is desired and necessary for healing. Think of all the negative thought and behavior patterns that need to be dramatically altered. It takes great effort to undue years of strong neural circuitry. I personally think that DMT has the potential to accelerate the natural neural plasticity of the brain. I think it somehow triggers some primal part of the brain(our subconscious/body/dna) to operate free of the executive we consider "consciousness". In this process, it's almost like the owner of a house coming home to find the guest he let stay there has totally trashed the place and starts doing some immediate "clean-up" - meanwhile making it's mind well known to the one who caused the mess and how not to end up that way again. Thoughts?
