So, if the dmt is a solid white crystal, that means it is pure right? If it has any yellow color to it, that is the naptha, correct?

Is there anyway to get all of the naphta out of the freebase so it is 100% pure?

the yellow isn't naptha its plant oils, which are fine to smoke

if there really dark spots, like the color of the basified mixture, then you should remove that and clean the crystals again..but it sounds like your fine really.

if you have clean naphtha there shouldn't be any left once you let the crystals fully dry. to make sure: once you think they're dry stick them in a small container. After an hour or so open the lid and give it a smell. if it doesn't have any trace of naphtha in it then your good to go.

Ok cool, that is good to now, puts my mind at ease some. Didn't really want to be ingesting naptha.

Anyways, I edited my post and added a picture of my first ever extraction. This was a little test run with 20 grams of MHRB. How does it look? This is straight out of the freezer, they are still covered in Naptha, I haven't poured it back into the jar yet.

It has already been said, but the yellow stuff is not naphtha. With that being said you can remove any residual traces of naphtha that got stuck in the DMT crystalline structure by re-evaporating in alcohol or acetone.

If you really want to make sure you get rid of any excess naptha traces, dissolve the spice in a bit of IPA.

The naptha will go to the top and evap first and then allow the alcohol under it to evap cleanly.

It's very effective to redissolve the spice in pure acetone, the only downside to it is that the spice changes color rather quickly afterwards. I haven't tried IPA but I guess it's just as good

So you guys are telling me I can take my DMT crystals, put them in a little cup or something with some IPA....the naptha will then rise to the top of the IPA and evaporate....and then after that the IPA will evaporate leaving just the crystals behind????

..if so, that is awesome.

The other downside to acetone over IPA is that IPA will actually dry out completely and crystallize somewhat where the acetone only creates a gooey mess usually (in my limited experience with it). IPA will keep it nice and white from what I've seen.




Yessir.. It's good stuff for further purifying.

Acetone evaporates totally or course, the spice is first gooey, but if you whip it or make lines with a stick into it(for example), it will harden quickly and become hard DMT like usual, one can then chop it to powder.

It's white after scraped up, but gets somewhat yellow or orange after about a week.
