A little while ago I made a post to discuss using LSD and listening to heavy metal. Thought I'd let y'all know that I did exactly that last week and needless to say it was very very awesome. If you're interested, we listened to the following artists, in no specific order.
Apocalyptica
Lamb of god
Slipknot (the more atmospheric songs)
Sylosis (edge of the earth)
Scar symmetry (holographic universe)
Opeth
Mudvayne (L.D. 50) (blew my mind)
Periphery
Necrophagist
Nightwish
Chimaira
Korn
Children of bodom
Karnivool
Rammestein
Threw a shpongle song in there to tickle my shpongledness.

Definately recommend giving it a go to any fan of the genre and the drug.

Sounds intense - you'd have to do definately be feeling the right vibe for it. I remember I had headphones on (but not playing) and went for a big coastal walk at the tail end of a huge LSD trip and I must have bumped my mp3 device and Three Inches of Blood came blasting on at full volume! My first thoughts... do I really listen to this sort of thing???

That being said, I would love to listen to the following while tripping:

Tesseract
Between the Buried and Me
Dillinger Escape Plan

I actually think I would prefer instrumental metal: things like Peiphery's instrumental version of their self titled album, Behold the Arctopus and Animals as Leaders would be godly.

Not all "metal", but:

Tool, A perfect Circle, Dream Theater are also very trippy at times.

Although I would agree with Lichen that it does "sound intense". I prefer more downtempo music when I'm on psychedelics, and generally something that sounds a bit more happy. Very happy

Weed and metal, though, is a great combo. I'm a big fan of stoner metal, drone and doom metal. I like it slow and heavy Twisted Evil

I, for one, am very happy with the way psychedelics are working themselves back into heavy metal.

Step forward into your cave. That's right. You're going deeper into your cave. And you're going to find, your power animal...

Imagine your pain as a white ball of healing light. It moves over your body, healing you. Now keep this going, remember to breathe, and step forward through the backdoor of the room. Where does it lead?

I have always enjoyed metal while on lsd, even some of the stuff I dont enjoy while sober.

Out of all the drugs I have tried LSD is the one that makes music the most enjoyable for me.
