What do you mean by that?

You believe that some entities are...ill intended? That they try and seduce us with beauty in order to lure us?

And what would their goal be?

Not evil, they just do what they do like a mosquito or any other parasitic or perhaps symbiotic life form.
we are they're food in a sense.

Its not meant to a damper only to entertain another perspective and explore other possibilities.

I have had experiences that resonate with this child catcher metaphor.

Symbiotic, I would agree.

Parasitic, I highly doubt it.

Ever had an experience where an "entity" has truly stolen something from you, or done you harm?

I havent, and for that reason, I think the metaphor is a bit innexact. Still, I'm curious about your experience. In what way do you feel that these enteties are like mosquitos or parasitic beings?

why not parasitic ?
there are parasitic relationships where the host is unharmed.
Hyperspace is a soup of possible outcomes and potentiality
All possibilities should remain open in my opinion.

I agree that taken literally the child catcher is not a perfect metaphor.

nevertheless I resonate with an aspect of it.

My own extensive experiences supports this idea that
intelligences of some kind feed on the connection to us in some way.
once again not evil or good. they just do what they do.
