I have yet to experience dmt. But i'm well versed in the world of dxm. I have felt some strange psychic phenomenons on this chemical, & have done alot of research on it. I mean i've been going nearly 10 years on this. & i've come to the conclusion dxm has an effect on the pineal gland. I'm not the only person who thinks this, iv'e seen many other reports of users saying the same thing on the internet over the years. Ill have to look into it to see if it's proven scientifically. But, i have seen information saying that since dxm is a dissociative it basically puts your brain into "sleep mode" in turn realeasing small amounts of dmt. that is if dmt being in your brain already is true.

I say this because of a strange headspace i get into when on dxm which i feel may or may not have some similarities to hyperspace.
For example:

I begin to feel separated from my body. Things get hazy & eventually there is a white space around me. Everything in the room is still there. theres just this hazy white fading over it. Things in the room may appear very distorted & sounds may slow or speed up when in reality they dont. I begin to have strange feelings of deja vu, which later seems most of the time to come true. The intentions of people (or my perception of their intentions) manifests itself as either good or bad energy, or in other cases it has been angel wings or horns (kind of like constantine) which litterally appear. I usually experience ego death during an experience like this. I havn't had a complete breakthrough experience like with dmt but i have run into entities, felt strange energies, predicted things, etc. very strange.

I think there may be a link between dxm & dmt. somehow a metabolite of dxm or it's effect on the pineal gland release small amounts of dmt. Or in this case, any drug with a significant effect on the pineal gland may somehow release dmt. Shocked

This theory has brought forth an interest in the metaphysical world. I have pretty much no knowledge of it. anyone with some helpful links or good starting points?

A good starting point..... (and not to be a dick), but if you can, try DMT. Either in ayahuasca, or extracted. I know that this may not be a feasible option for you for whatever reasons, and if that is the case, then I completely understand.

If you can though, at least try some other tryptamines (like mushies) and then compare those to DXM. Since DMT is a tryptamine, it will have more in common with those experiences than DXM.

Coming from someone who has tried both, I will agree with you that at times there are unshakeable similarities. The closest I ever came to my smoked DMT experience was when I did nitrous while 2nd plateauing. Utterly amazing. Even purged afterwords. Laughing

I think you may be onto something, but if you want people to back you up, your going to need to show some links in support of your claim. I'm not doubting you, but we here at the Nexus are VERY thorough thinkers.

Distorted is our perception of reality, because reality is much more distorted than we could ever perceive it to be.

No offense taken. Ive been plotting to somehow take dmt for years now. I just havn't had the resources to do so yet.

I have tried other tryptamines, mushrooms hundreds of times although i was not aware at the time that psilocybin was a tryptamine. I have also tried dipt & dalt. although at the time i thought each one was mdma tablets until the pills were tested.

I've only seen one other page linking dxm to dmt release. I've talked alot about it with friends. I posted it mainly as a theory rather than scientific evidence. I just figured it might bring up some interesting conversation on the nexus & see if any others had some similar theories and/or factors which link dmt & dxm or any other drugs affecting the pineal gland.

You'll probably enjoy this thread on DXM.

There is alot more going on with the pineal gland than just the DMT thing..I have never taken DXM but from the description of others they dont sound too similar..I cant say from experience though.
Long live the unwoke.

I've noticed this similarity as well. I've gone to the 4th plateau only once but some of the similarities it had with an ayahuasca trip are almost scary.

The main differences being that it's a lot less shamanic or organic, for me it's very mechanical and cold and dark. I saw endless fields of humans being harvested by dark machines (very similar to The Matrix) , I was catapulted to the border of the universe which had an astronomically huge wall full of dark scary technology, and I floated through a very Lovecraftian place that had architecture that shouldn't be possible according to physics, while sensing the presence of something really malevolent and alien. All of the visions had a really large scale to them, like a certain perspective you could never achieve with human eyes.

Also your awareness is pretty much the opposite of what it is on DMT. You have no idea that you've taken a drug, you have no memories about your previous life or even what the word "earth" means. But some of the elements are indeed very similar. DXM is like the urban version of DMT.

I haven't tripped on DXM for a while, but I do occasionally take NyQuil in normal (or at most, a double dose) to get to sleep sometimes. And my dreams are usually very vivid and seem longer and much stranger. Sometimes I even wake up and have open and closed eyed visuals, though this even happens chemical free on occasion. But more often if I have DXM in my system.

It would be interesting if the pineal gland actually did have something to do with dreaming. Also, the visuals I get sometimes in the middle of the night are similar to DMT or mushroom visuals. Mostly rows and rows of alphanumeric-esque symbols. Not always those I recognize. They last about 10-20 seconds after waking out of a deep sleep/dream. And they even come with the DMT body buzz/vibration. This didn't start until after smoking DMT for the first time a few months ago.

It spits you out
