Sorry if this has been repeated. Please delete if it has!

So I get pretty much harsh insomnia after smoalking DMT. I can sleep, but I wake up with I think nightmares or something. Maybe in one night I will wake up like at least 15 times. Mind you these are the result of smoking small sub breakthroughs just for the feeling but not chained to being stuck in a trip if daily life calls. Just that hyper glow with a bit of A/V effects.

Anyone have this too?? Really would like to hear about it. Because it is disturbing me so much, that day trips might be my only option.

Edit: changed title to the addition of disorder.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I notice my sleep can be disrupted after a day of
Exploring. It usually envolves waking up super early wide awake .
I counter act the insomnia with melatonin and some
Binaural beats. I don't have nightmares , sometimes some vivid dreams.
I,ve gotten used to the routine of it. Usually just one night following
Some intense daylight journeying.

Twice, after some very intense journeys, SWIM was not able to sleep that night. It has never been a regular event for her, though.

I usually have notable sleep interruption, but not outright insomnia. It seems to me that longer, soulcrushing sessions help let me sleep well, and single toke blasts wreck my sleep cycles.

Must be my brain sayin SMOKE MORE, you dummy.

Harmalas seem to decrease the sleep impairment issues though. At least thus far. It seems the more I think I know, the more I find I am wrong when it comes to all things DMT.

Sometimes I get caught in the moment and write of his experiences in the first person; this is a mistake, for I am an upstanding citizen who never does wrong. Stimpy is the degenerate.

I'm having the same xp. After the first time, I had trouble sleeping for few days. I don't blame the medicine directly. After the first dose, I was so amazed and curious I couldn't stop thinking and I started doing research on religion, spirituality, shamanism, Egyptians, the Mayans, Aliens ect ect..I suggest everyone to pick up a copy of "Fingerprints of the Gods" by Graham Hancock, it will open your eyes for sure.

To me, psychedelics in general do disturb sleep.
I thought this is a common thing?

For that reason I usually do it first thing in the morning, failing that, the earlier the better (except ayahuasca, which I can't fanthom doing in the morning, for some reason)

Keep in mind though, my sleep patterns have been somewhat fucked up for as long as I rememberRazz

Well...

DMT isn't exactly a warm glass of milk is it?

Some people can drift off afterwards, but if I use any psychedelics I'm looking at least 2 hours after baseline before I can sleep.

I was a lifelong insomniac until DMT came along. Not that I can sleep on the nights I do it, because I can't. But I have no trouble going to bed since that first toke of DMT.

Wow! Thanks everyone!!! Very informative! I thought maybe, just maybe someone else has what I had after DMT. Plus some even feel the opposite, getting more sleep.

Sometimes I will be sleeping and something happens. Like the other night. DMT, then maybe a few hours later I will be sleeping (by myself on the couch[late night]) and I will feel this hard poke from someone's finger right into my side below my rib cage! It freaked the crap out of me! I honestly think maybe part of us stays in hyperspace or some entities can still communicate to us even when we are back!

I get the same thing with feeling the poke. I also get feelings of people shaking me awake/whispering in my ear. It so weird because it seems like I can see them with my sleep induced mind. This is not necessarily directly from the DMT but it increases whenever I smoke it.

DMT usually makes it harder to fall asleep but when I am its okay, vivid dreams like usual. Getting up in the morning seems a little bit easier though.

Try melatonin, you really get less interruptions of sleep when you use it.

hello Electric Kool-Aid,

i dont experience what you do, but i do think DMT is having some kind of effect on my dreams.

For the last 15 years i have been a daily weed smoker and due to this i had very few dreams, or dreams i could recollect at least. On the few occasions i have a little break from weed i would have crazy, vivid dreams for about 3 days, they would often wake me up as they were so intense, but after a few days they would level out and all would be fine and i would be sleeping like a baby again.

I am currently having an extended break from smoking weed, the first break since i started smoalking DMT, i am up to 2 months without a smoke now and unlike my normal breaks i am still having crazy vivid dreams that will frequently wake me up in the night which is a bit of a pain to be honest. I am only having 1 or maybe 2 DMT sessions a month but the effects on my deams seem to be quite persistent.

All i can put it down to is my use of DMT. Funnily enough the only nights i get a sound nights sleep are the evenings i have partaken in the molecule, i think the mental work out tires my mind enough to allow it to be chilled out and not be filled with crazy dreams.

There was a time when I couldnt sleep, or assumed that after laying down for 20 minutes, and just as you thought the feeling would calm be, like we have felt so close to sleep sometimes in that state, but then the effects were not as expected and it kept me up and increased the tension in my nech. I think eventually after a few hours I finally got to sleep. Around that same time period I also had a dream where I was pushing buttons in my brain (no imagery to the dream) and I hit the wrong one, waking myself up with a bad charleyhoarse in my calve.

Couple times I had slight difficulty falling asleep after DMT, but in general not... Adding maoi, for example sublingual harmala exrtact might help some peoples insomnia.

I recommend you take a proper break. As much as I love DMT, I don't recommend using it daily. But I guess everyone has their own way...

what is a proper brake if you dont gain a tolerance i find blasting off once a day puts me in a better mood i think more clearly and im thinking of other peoples feelings alot more than the times i dont and its gives me something to occupy my mind with because theres so much to think about
