I saw an old movie called "Dark city (199Cool" last night and thought it's a good "nexian or consciousness type" movie like a few more I've seen like the matrix and inception. Inception is my best ever till now. Has anyone seen similar movies to suggest?
It's amazing just to find out, so true and so clear that there is no good or bad, only love and fear and that is all we are messing with during our whole human history and WOW that was my first hit. A moment of freedom out of the ape's sealed skin.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Check out my thread about films that present an alternate reality - there are LOADS of them there! I will try and link it later, but i am typing on my phone now....

one of the best films i've seen. totally worth watching
The character Indoril_Nerevar is an artistic work of fiction, and thus all his claims and ideas are works of falsehood and fiction and should be treated likewise. There is no relation between Indoril_Nerevar and any real living or dead person, and any existing similarity or seeming relation is purerly coincidental.

Wow I had no idea that Jodorowsky was going to make Dune!?!? Dune + Holy Mountain = too cool for school.

even worse, he showed it to Hollywood, and they never replied to it, but kept the script, then "suddenly" Star Wars turns up with very similar ideas from Jodorowsky's script.... Then after the unforseen success of Star Wars they went to make Dune, which again turned into a "flop". But only in Hollywood's eyes, as we know ;-)
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

I loved Dark City- went by mostly unnoticed by the public, but very worth watching.

Here's two intense psychological thrillers that go deep into alternate spaces:
Limitless (recent) goes into the implications of a drug that allows you to connect all the floating bits of trivia in your head into a concise overall picture... Temporarily, of course.

Pi (the mathematical symbol) is the story of a mad genius discovering the numerical root of a higher reality. Very intense and thought provoking.

I recommend watching the new documentary called Thrive. It will definitely give you some food for thought, and i can almost guarantee at least some of it will connect with things you take interest in.

I saw the 1988 movie 'They Live' the other night and it blew my mind! I highly recommend it for fellow nexian members.

I second 'The Fountain'. Still the most beautiful film I've ever seen and the only movie that has brought me to tears since my early childhood.

"Becoming a person of the plants is not a learning process, it is a remembering process. Somewhere in our ancestral line, there was someone that lived deeply connected to the Earth, the Elements, the Sun, Moon and Stars. That ancestor lives inside our DNA, dormant, unexpressed, waiting to be remembered and brought back to life to show us the true nature of our indigenous soul" - Sajah Popham.

Great film.
From what I've read, that movie would resonate with users of salvia divinorum with their aliens behind the scenes visions as well.

AFOAF was at the local premiere of "2001, A Space Odyssey" waaay back in 1968.
At the point in the movie(awesome stuff in those days) where the main character is experienceing interdimensional travel, a member of the audience, not sure what he was on, decided to join him and leapt through the screen.
Instead of the bright, starry, multicolored universe he ends up on his ass in a back room will mops and pails.

I really like some of the movies Takeshi Kitano has directed. Although the following ones have some violence in them and they're quite simple there's a beautiful and magical vibe to them. The music composed by Joe Hisaishi adds a lot to these films.

Kikujiro. Very uplifting summer movie and the whole thing is on youtube! Check it out:

Cult classic my friend, and a "must watch" for Lynch fans. But yeh, it's not in the light entertainment catagory.

Eraserhead has long been a favourite of mine. I have said for years that it is one of the funniest films ever made, but I seem to be in a quite marginal minority!

I mean, with lines like:

"I, I... I'm on vacation"

&

"Yeah, just cut 'em up, like reg'lar chickens!"

how can you go wrong!

Actually a very simple film about the nightmarish anxiety of pending parenthood - a Lynch classic, and the crazy film that launched his film career.

Cheers,

JBArk
