I have a friend who vaporizes weed in his Volcano at a lower temperature during the day to get the THC and re-vaporizes it at a higher temperature at night to get the CBD out. He said the CBD helped him sleep at night and was noticably different from the THC so I don't think you are alone

here is some relevant info

My brother once told me that weed makes his mind more sensitive. I thought that was interesting in regards to Stan Grov's commment on LSD as a nonspecific amplifier of the mind. I think THC is just a milder, nonspecific amplifier.

*If you're naturally social and like to talk, and you smoke, you'll be even more apt to talk and socialize. You'll become more extroverted.

*If you're naturally introverted and less comfortable in social situations, the weed is going to increase this introversion and make you even more uncomfortable when expected to socialize.

This becomes evident if you've ever had the misfortune of being mismatched in this area, where you smoke with someone, they become extremely talkative and you, even less than your typically quiet self (or vice versa) hardly can utter a word. Very draining.

I think its important to learn how to bring your awareness into the shared playing field of interactions with other people, and an equal interest in others as well as your own thought process...without altering your consciousness. I had to do this, having fallen into somewhat of a social rut in my later teens early twenties.

Edit: Sativa Indica deffinately plays a role

For me, climbing out of my mind and into the outside world was always more difficult with marijuana. This is why I only smoke it when I know I'll be alone, or, as said was before, when I'm drinking. Then it doesnt matter.

Yes, CBD/ THC ratios deffinately matter too. Its a complex question. Sorry for the double post BTW.

My understanding is that the more breeders select for high %THC genes, the less CBD can be expressed.

Its fairly well known that pure THC is not particularly enjoyable. There are deffinately 'other colors' in there, like CBD.

Someone could capitalize on this and start producing breeding plants for high %CBD bud. Not sure if the larger public would catch on though...but who knows! Maybe I'll do it myself!

This is true but their is also a common misconception that I'd like to address. Indica and sativa are related terms, not opposites. Indica was derived from the genetic engineering of Sativa cannabis over the years. There was a hightimes article published on this and re-posted on GC, link below.

peppermint

This is actually fairly common and strains such as Harlequin are becoming popular for high CBD content. CBD and THC ratios definitely do matter, for the most part, this is what really separates indica from sativa (along with plant size). To my understanding, their is no "limited pool of genes" that the plant selects from to generate THC vs CBD vs CBN, etc... Prolonging the growing period turns THC into CBD and THC oxidates into CBN.

I'm a medicinal marijuana patient and cultivator, I LOVE my bud! My favorite strains have the highest ratios of both CBD and THC. I could happily sit down and vaporize such a strain to my hearts content, I'm also much calmer when medicated and thus, often more extroverted. CBD's have anti-anxiety effects which help me enjoy high THC strains. If I were to sit down and vape a THC laden strain with low CBD amounts, I would get quite a bit of anxiety. If I were to vape 10x as much THC with a particularly well-balanced strain, I would not experience this.
Anything said by this account, "Cosmic Rift", is complete and utter bullshit. In the event that it's not completely made up then it is a lie, exaggeration, or I am caught up in the act of role playing.
