so after sending cash in an envelope and waiting the 4-6 business days they said it would take to arrive i still received no email from Vaporgenie...

tried to track it via the registered mail # they gave me.. nothing .. so i called customer service.. apparently it was being held to verify the address or something

not sure what will happen with my letter but a word of advice to anyone trying to purchase a GVG, simply avoid the hassle/worry of sending a cash order in the mail. I know this is common sense but i suppose i thought it was safe, or well safe enough anyways... Anyways dont bother with the mail, just use a prepaid credit card if need be

Update... So Canadapost had no idea what was what. Apparently the letter was delivered 5 days before i inquired via the phone call Laughing ... And a delivery notice was left with vaporgenie. However upon checking with usps it still has not been picked up, some 13 days later. I emailed vaporgenie and they mistakenly thought the letter was delivered already and there was no need to pick it up... (they cant be smoking tobacco only from these things!).. So apparently they are going to pick it up today.. We shall see, *fingers crossed*

New Update: So VG has not picked up the letter. I enquire again via email and their response was "it is very hard to get registered mail from USPS if the first delivery was missed. The USPS is supposed to deliver your mail, maybe today." That was 5 days ago, no change in the status of my letter via the tracking number. Doesnt seem like this is going to happen. Hopefully it just makes its way back to me eventually. Dont know why they refuse to go pick it up, who knows. But to me this doesnt seem like a good way to run a business (though using a mail order DEFINITELY is not a good way to make an order either).

Latest Update : it finally arrived! Shipping was incredibly fast though. Sent it on friday and recieved it on monday, it was express/priority international mail though (maybe thats why). However a note to all potential Canadian customers - I had to pay ~$22 when i went to pick it up. Apparently it was for HST and some sort of handling charge... so be sure to include that in your budget too

Good luck! I haven't heard of people having trouble with them before. I hope it works out!

I highly recomend the essential vaaapp. vapornation.com I'd doubt its any good for changa. but it's an awesome pipe. good for canna oil too. there is also a version that is modified for a waterpipe. I rarely use anything else, it's vary efficient. (get a torchlighter)

I don't use DMT that often so I couldn't justify purchasing the GVG, I did however get a CVG. Is one screen adequate if using it for changa?

The same number of screens is really necessary for changa and pure spice? I wouldn't have guessed that.

That is what I was thinking as well, wouldn't the plant carrier stop the DMT from running like freebase does?

I always vape changa and I use 10 screens. I never tried less than 6, but Im quite sure that with less it would drip. Plus, a breakthrough dose of 1:1 changa doesnt have much herb in it.

I got a GVG and I've been have trouble with the vapor being too harsh. I'm also using an arc torch lighter, and copper mesh from a chore boy scrubber. With the mesh disk, I've tried to make it be the same size and density as the pictures I've seen here.

I've found that breathing in the vapors directly is almost impossible. If I try to do so, I end up having a coughing fit and cough out a cloud of white vapor. After a few tries, my throat can end up being sore into the next day. My friends who are smokers are having pretty much the same trouble. The best method I've found so far is to hold the lighter far away, and then bring it closer while I breath in slowly. Once I see the ceramic element star to glow, I pull the lighter farther away and the pipe starts to fill with white vapor. Next I hold the vapor in the pipe for about 10 seconds, and then I breath it in slowly with a lot of air. With this method I've gotten moderate visuals, but it takes at least 3 tries, and it seems to take too long to get much further.

From what I've read I should have the ideal equipment. I'm not sure where exactly I'm going wrong and I'm wondering what I should be doing differently. Some of the ideas I've considered are attaching a long piece of tubing in order to pull out more vapor, or breathing the vapors out into a balloon.

I have never had issues with hot vapour, at most it is warm, often it is not even obvious that I have inhaled vapor at all!

My technique is as follows:

• Heat ceramic block briefly with direct contact of the flame
• Inhale, block goes red
• Vapour starts to appear
• Keep inhaling whilst moving the flame away slightly
• Put aside lighter (keep inhaling) and pull top glass bit out to clear chamber

I have yet to have uncomfortably harsh vapour working like that.

Im a non-smoker as well and if I dont vape for a couple of weeks, I too sometime cough and find it hard to inhale all in one toke. Said this, I think that the word "harsh" doesnt fit at all with my experience! You are either burning the spice or your lungs are oversensitive.

I think you're pulling too slowly. If you pull faster you'll get cooler vapor. And I wouldn't hold the vapor in the pipe for 10 seconds -- I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think you'll get vapor in the chamber that will be in contact with the ceramic element and end up even hotter.

What works for me is to give the element a 2 to 3 second blast from approximately two inches away without breathing in at all. I move the lighter around in a tight circular motion so the whole element gets heated instead of just one spot in the middle. Then I'll start breathing in while backing the lighter away slowly. As more vapor fills the pipe, I increase my draw speed. The lighter ends up somewhere around 3 inches away on average, and I'll adjust the proximity on the fly if needed.

One thing I do a bit differently is I make the copper disk with a larger diameter than the screen and instead of putting it right above the screen I place it so it rests on the little ridge just below the element. I've found that this way vapor production starts sooner, the entire dose is vaporized very easily in one toke, and I get no drip onto the screen. Before I made this change, the vapor I inhaled was much warmer, and I'd get blobs of melted DMT on the screen after every session.

As far as loading goes, I use a tiny funnel when putting the DMT onto the copper disk so it stays in the middle away from the glass. When I premelt, it all stays on the disk since it's too far to migrate to the cooler glass.

Hope this helps. Just keep at it, and even if my technique (which came from reading this entire thread and lots of experimentation) doesn't work for you, I'm sure you'll develop one that works well for you.

Yeah definately keeping the vapor in the pipe sounds like a no-no for me.
Oh-hungees method sounds good about the temperature, but I think he/she should try taking it all in one inhalation, not filling the pipe but constantly inhaling, slowly or quickly. I would recommend slowly. In case everything fails, I would recommend checking the screen(I recommend copper mesh) and possibly adding more temperature.

Thank for the suggestions. Pulling faster kind of worries me. That's what I was doing when I first got it. I would either hold the lighter too far away and not get much of anything, or get a bunch at once with the light held closer and end up with my throat totally destroyed. I'll have to try some more things, but I've gotten a bit worried about wasting any more of it.

It takes some practice. Just inhale slowly or at medium "speed" and keep the lighter's tip closer at first and then bring it to about 1-3 cm from the ceramic when you start seeing vapor coming. The less heat, the smoother the inhalation. It's easy when you practice a bit.
Pulling faster is something I can recommend doing only at the very end of inhalation, to clear the pipe completely.

So i updated a few other posts but basically it has arrived, finally!

Anyways, the little book/pamphlet that came with it says not to touch the flame directly to the ceramic.

However if i have read this thread correctly it is common to start out by warming the element up by directly applying the flame, ya? Then start to slowly inhale while moving the lighter away slowly. Have i got this right?

Thanks

My experience (with the VG, not GVG, but I believe they're pretty similar in terms of usage), is that the optimum procedure would be as follows: first, pre-melt spice, then apply flame close to the ceramic filter (1 cm or so, but not directly touching the filter because it will clog fast), and after circling the flame over the filter for about 2-3 seconds, vapor starts to emerge, pretty fast I'd say; you want to inhale slowly at this point, because it takes a little bit while the mesh/filters get hot. Then increase the distance slowly until you get to about 3 cm away from your pipe while pulling just a tad faster. Do this for about 8-10 seconds (that's what it takes me to vape a full dose), and hold the smoke for 15-20 seconds. Play with the lighter distance a little while, and don't feel discouraged, have patience. You'll know when you got it right. Additionally, if you want to smoalk slower, and apply multiple hits, you'll have your pipe hot already, so you'll not need to start with the flame from as close as for the first hit, or you risk burning the remaining spice.

And also, I've found that a mesh (copper/I use stainless steel ones) work way better than multiple filters, because of they're scrambled structure. Flat surfaces don't hold liquid that great, but the mesh kinda "absorbs" it and makes vaporization a LOT easier. Plus, you'll save some mgs of spice Wink
The truth...lies within.

It talks about normal bic style lighter. Use torch lighter with it. It can touch the ceramic, altough you won't need such high temperatures.
