Ok this has nothing to really do with the whole crystal skull thing so no conspiracies. While watching the latest Indiana Jones movie the other night I was very surprised to hear a familiar sound, disturbingly familiar. as Dr. Jones was forced to look into the skull you could hear a somewhat mechanical sound. The thing is it is virtually exact sound I hear under the influence of the spice. If anyone has access to this I suggest you look at that scene it's one of those rare times when something could be compared to see what similarities our experiences have.

YES! Right at the very beginning not the part where they are spinning. Take that initial sound at 7 seconds in. It's better at that point in the tent where he is strapped down. I found it really odd that the sound I hear is something that is used to denote alien consciousness in a movie. Really what are the chances.

I can relate Vovin. Especially when it starts that sort of metallic clicking right before it switches to the woman getting screwed.

Kinda sounds like a machine.. Vah vah vah vah... Sight goes chrystallized.

Edit: with a pitch going higher in the forground. Both sounds. This is what I hear on light doses and the one heavy one I did. But the heavy one was too quick to notice much. Just slammed!

Right before I fly into hyperspace I hear a sound kin of like that. A long note that pitches up and down.

Exactly the same for me, it tends to fade as the visual takes over.

at .56 seconds yes although definitely louder but very similar. The pitches for me are more distinct than in the video but it's quite close.

I think there should be some serious work with comparing real life examples of our experiences as I think it's far more similar than we know but a great deal of that similarities is lost in our ability to describe the 'indescribable'. Think of it like this if DMT has a real consistent effect on every person that would lead to the credibility of it being real in some degree. Now I know there are definite differences but finding the similarities of our experiences would make mapping of the experiences we have far more effective and lead our experience reports to real data that could be used for scientific study.

The fact that several of us have experienced this sound makes me wonder how similar other parts are. If we are all seeing and hearing the same thing then that puts the question back into our heads how 'real' is the experience?

Yes! But for me there is a sharp cut of that sound when everything break lose.

That sound is very similar to the sound I hear most often in hyperspace(altouhg the sounds I hear have faster tempo) -something like mechanical processing of information. It's interesting other people hear it too

I have drunk ayahuasca and had that mechanical buzzing carrier wave so loud that it basically drowned out everything else. All I could really make out for about 1.5 hours was the carrier wave. If I rolled back and forth in bed the sound would get ever louder as my arms and legs moved on the bedsheets.

It is one of the most facinating things about the DMT experience in my opinion.
Long live the unwoke.

Ok the question arises has anyone 'NOT' heard this sound before during a journey? It seems everyone who has posted has heard it I wonder if it's a universally consistent sound or just a highly popular one. Oh as far as increasing it, earplugs make them easily removable because it will be too much most of the time.

You're saying you hear the hyperspatial audio phenomena more or less with earplugs?

Oddly enough more it dominates, at least to me. The lack of light seems to also push the experience towards the auditory as well. I know it's somewhat counter intuitive with the earplugs, not sure why it is the case but at least for me it is very pronounced and can be very overwhelming, deafening.

This is my attempt at creating my "bad trip" carrier wave using a synth. It's not all that true to the reality of it it, but it's as close as I've got so far. For me listening to this is kinda similar to looking at visualizations (like in the spirit molecule film) in that it conveys something of the nature of the experience but lacks the depth, intensity and err... dimensions of the actual effect. I'm not sure the effect can be reproduced. I'm not even sure the "carrier wave" is the same kind of experience as hearing aurally.

Open to any suggestions for improvement. This is me trying to recreate how it sounds for me, but am happy to try and mold it to fit a consensus if desired.

(Hand jolts up in the air!)

I have always been curious about the carrier wave... Never heard it, in deep or shallow trips. I do get some interesting audio distortions and reverb on nitrous though, but DMT gives me very little audio information beyond magnifying my own breathing.

Makes me a bit of an anomaly, I guess...

Cheers,

Ehh... the carrier wave happens to me every time.

Sometimes I notice it more than others depending how quiet it is in the room.

I try to ignore it because if i start focusing on it, it really becomes a buzzkill.

The sound of crystal bones you mean, creaking? And do you hear that all along with the pitch?

Phog: You sound is an A#. Me I had a D. Someone had a C.

About the Indy fragment: It has a pulse to it. I wonder what waveform that is. Is that a block wave? I wonder. I don't hear a pulse in it. Or maybe the pulse is so high frequent it is not very clear.

I hear i too, usually accompanied with "electro-psychedelic" imagery. Very colorful silicon-chips basically. And yea, as deamwalker described, if you focus on the sound it takes over even more. And for me it often turns into this: https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=24183
