Hello Nexus,
This is my first post here after many hours of reading so HELLO.
I was watching a documentary called down the rabbit hole what the bleep? the other day ( a very interesting doco if you havenโ€™t seen it I recommend highly) and one part caught my attention and sparked a thought. It states that our brains are aware of reality around us on much more of a scale than we are consciously aware of. To the point of saying( I hope I remember these figure right) 40 million bits of information your brain is in taking every second but our conscious awareness is only focused on 2000!. If there was a way of measuring what your conscious awareness is aware of I think this would be a great way to see if while under the effect of DMT if the craziness of hyper space is just our awareness becoming open to other parts of the universe that our brain has kept us oblivious of because it is not needed to be aware of these thing to look after our physical bodyโ€™s. Just a thought and I hope some people here have fun with this discussion.

Welcome to the Nexus Smile

I found this actually very interesting. My main thought is that under the influence of DMT our "awareness" won't become greater but the quality of the reality we are aware of become greater. We are only human of course, and being aware of only 2000 bits of information out of 40 million is maybe just a small part of what makes us human. So I don't think that we could take in more information without transcending some humanistic barrier. But the reality in which we become aware can transcend, because it might not be directly influenced from our brains. So the reality we live in on DMT becomes something greater, but we are still taking in the 2000 bits of info.

This of course is my humble opinion, and I have no research or anything to back it up. Just a few thoughts.

I think it's the reality that we perceive that is altered, not the amount of awareness.
