I can say beside a single small 5-10mg toke of spice i have yet to experience the wonder and awe so many of you bring to life here on the nexus.

A bit of a digression,
i believe in science.
Life needed to perceive, it gained the perception of molecules through smelling individual molecules or through feeling the texture of the molecules. Even better yet the perception of light was adapted... we grew eyes many life forms evolved eyes because of the awesome wonderful experience that is vision.

Now here is where i gets REALLY COOL, all this is in the moment perception cause and effect very basic. Then humans were borne...

we developed the perception of the future. The ability to use past and current knowledge to "predict" what was going to happen. A human imagined a weak tree limb causing him to fall down. He avoided his untimely death. This is what lead to our greatest transformation into a society of civilized individuals if you will. The ability to assimilate information and use that to plan your next steps.

Now this is where we are right now.
(long post but hell youre on the nexus right?)

Google the samauri warrior that has sliced a plastic pellet in half with a katana. They use slow motions cameras on multiple shows. Point is that this is a PERFECT, EXAMPLE of our next evolution.

The expansion on the ability to predict. I believe that there are ways to gather information from the surrounding universe.(just like light or smell but much faster and more complex) Some kind of energy wave or possibly quantum magic. People like the japanese guy who can cut that pellet are on the cusp of developing that ability to literally understand what is about to unfold.

I believe in determinism. Obviously this theory is just a random theory proposed by one crazy psychonaut (im sure i wasnt the first or only though) but i think it deserves some validity. And i does fit in nicely with my previous belief structure.

Either way one of the....errrr hopefully (wildly hopefully) dreams would be that i could improve upon my own prediction perception and be able to not only "feel" that its real but record some more evidence and possibly related individual case studies.

Anyway,
Had a very light trip with some Lucy and it was perfect, It helped me in every way i needed reminded me of the beauty of psychadelics and the emotional benefit they can bring me. Excited about my foray into hyperspace.

2012 you will be my year of rebirth Smile

Can we truly perceive the future? or do we make estimations, assumptions of what we expect to happen based on previous experience and knowledge?

I have had some very light doses of DMT, but what it seemed to come across as the most in my experiences is that your beliefs can be shattered in one single instant. It just shows you that your beliefs are so human.

Perceiving the future?? Precognition is one way (if it really exists of course). Looking at this question from a more science-y perspective I would recommend researching the "Akashic Field". We can supposedly tap into this energy field when in the right frame of mind and access all kinds of knowledge (possibly even future information). It's related to the Theosophical Akashic Records.

Lucid dreaming, astral projection, (auto)/hypnosis, remote viewing, are other possible techniques that could enable you to peer into the future.

More scientific research should be done to shed light on this!!

I'm not sure if it's exactly precognition or a skillful state of no-mind that has probably been attained through years of training. In such a state the body just reacts, one doesn't even think. In my opinion such a display would be impossible to explain through simply precognition, but there is a certain "becoming one" with the process of focus.

But I have to agree that humans seem to be reaching a point where we may branch out into some strange territories. There are some people out there with some miraculous abilities.

First one that pops into my mind is the Ice Man Wim Hof who can control his body temperature to withstand extended exposure to cold without any adverse reactions, and has undergone recent tests where he was able to heighten his immune system to fight a reaction to the injection of a dead bacteria sample which normally causes a short violent flu-like spell.

Daniel Tammet, aka Brainman, is in my opinion the most fascinating in his abilities to spontaneously perform complex calculations and recitals of irrational numbers, and also learn conversational Icelandic in a week.

Thanks for the replies! I dont think someone can actually see the future, time is linear(?). However if you have enough of the right information (and could process it) i think it would be possibly to predict with unimaginable accuracy and foresight.

Def ran across the hof ice man in some earlier browsing Smile very interesting and got me learning about different mediations.
Thanks for the tip about akashic fields ill have to look it up.

Stranger things are yet to come im sure!

There is a video I watched I dont know if it was on here or somewhere else. It was about time travel and how to get to the future.
It has to do with going in to different dimensions and eventually it acts like a flat strip of paper that one end is twisted and then flipped around to meet the other end of the paper, then it is like a road that you travel around both sides of the paper to meet yourself in the future.
(Which by the way, there is no time, time is a way to tell distance A to B)
Sorry I am not totally educated on this subject but just dabbed in to it. If someone has a link to that video, please send. It was a black and white video of line drawings showing how time travel works.
Cheers!

Hmm, if you or anyone could actually achieve that I could sure use next weeks Lottery numbers . . .

Ranting though, seems to me that the future is like the potential of the multiverse and it's not until it actually happens, crashes into the wavefront that is now that it actually collapses all of that potential into one . . . (deterministic?) timeline.

It also seems to me that we are at a kind of crux point in history. We have more people, fewer raw potential resources and more connectivity/networking than ever before . . . . this makes the future from the immediate two weeks to the upcoming years, EXTREMELY difficult to predict no matter what tools we have in our grasp . . . . in my opinion.

And to be honest, I feel blessed to live in these insane bread and circus times where anything could happen from huge change and explosion of wonderful potential, a kind of uplifting to . . . a New Dark Ages . . . seems we are striving for both currently. . . I'm not sure I'd like to have it any other way . . . It makes for extremely interesting, and frankly, entertaining, times to be alive.
"But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. The present moment, ultimately, is more than enough, a gift of grace and unfathomable value, which our friend and lover death paints in stark relief."

Kinda like the butterfly effect (the movie) might happen!
I think things get screwed up if you change something that was supposed to happen.
Better to see them as they come!
