Hello Nexians!

This message does not want to be a way to produce DMT for selling or other illegal action.

I'm wondering if it's possibile to produce big quantity of DMT by:

-finding a suitable cellular type (eukaryotic or bacterial) that could express AADC and INMT under control of some induceble promoter (or a double promoter system - to be sure) in a industrial fermentator to produce hg or kilos of dmt easly..

I'm also thinking about making some little fermentator as the one you use to make yogurt or yeast for bread.

Once you make your engineered yeast or bacteria, then you only need make them grow fine, then add your inducer, then wait for the production of DMT and make a simple lysis (basification or acidification) and a simple pull and salting....... you will retrieve houndreds of grams of microbial DMT!

dreaming
cheers!

I don't understand your question 1ain.. but if you meant why i'd like to do... it's that if someone could design a reliable system to do this at home that would be many advantages in doing that.

After posting my thread i then found this thread that seems actually dead, where someone has talked about this, but unfortunately i could not post there and i'd like to give my opinion about designing this system.

Fisrt of all i don't think that the tones used in that discussion were respectful,
Second i think that the cDNA way, plus a Gateway system would be a great way to do that. (avoiding subcloning).

One have to find a good yeast to insert those genes. And other stuff has to solved up.. but i'd like to talk with people that know biotechnology as well. I think that DYBIOTECH is a great way to achieve this goal, and i don't think it would be so difficult to achieve (like someone said in 1-2 year full time work).. Of course i'd prefer to spend money to have the more commercial ready to use stuff as i can.

cheers

Hey contafinoasette,

nice to know that other people also think positive about alternatives for DMT sources Pleased
I closed this project, because I was very busy - shame on me I know Smile

Latest experiments however - which are of course only fictional - resulted in DMT detectded by GC-MS.
Problem is, that there might been a crosscontamination due to using same reaction vessels for extracting plant material - and of course the problem of quantity: no standard for DMT has been used.
Interesting finding for you: You dont need to lyse the cells Pleased They actually "pump" the DMT out of the cells. [Cells and media were extracted seperately]

As mentioned before, these are only fictional experimental results. Not only the possesion of DMT is illegal, but also the "cration" of GMOs in an non (at least S1-)laboratorial environment. Asses will be kicked by the government, so don't do this at home !
