I'm about to changa up a couple of grams and noticed i had some acetone in the garage and started wondering what works better. I have always used 99% IPA and found it works great.
What works better/faster? or whats preferred by you?

I've used IPA and have never seen a reason to use anything else. I have some acetone but it has a very strong smell. It doesn't say on the bottle that it has anything else added. Does acetone have a strong smell? ––––––

The only reason I use acetone is because IPA is not available to retail consumers in my country...

IPA will also only poorly dissolve harmalas IME.. 96% grain ethanol FTW

would everclear work better than ipa? I have no idea where i would find 96% grain ethanol

I thought everclear was 95% ethanol? At least the kind I used for a salvia tincture was... it worked miserably for that application due to it being extremely difficult to dose 95% ethanol sublingually! Does the process go faster with slightly warm solvent? Not heated, maybe just a quick hot-water bath prior to using it? بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

It's been reported that salvia tinctures work best diluted with 1 part warm water. Yes warmth speeds up the process.

i frequently use vodka i fractionaly distilled as a solvent so 95% ethanol as unless you completely seal it off from air it forms an azeotrope with air causing to lower the 100% or pure to 95% were it finds its happy equilibrium i think acetone is more useful as it evaporates quicker than isopropanol and becuase it usally purer than isopropanol if you can bassify in ammononia and extract with dcm why not smoke it?
