Before anything, let me just say I'm very glad that I've found this forum to reach out to and gain some other perspective and thought in this. You can't go through life without support of others, and you can't experience something like DMT's power without the help of others either.

Anyways, I'd just like to say that I'm a 21 year old college student with no experience in other psychedelic drugs. I smoke weed a pretty normal amount, and beyond that I drink on the weekends or out as well. I'm extremely interest in things such as sociology, philosophy, history, literature, etc. I like to consider myself as a pretty deep thinker. I've lived in multiple areas outside of my ethnosphere and the relationships between humans has always intrigued me.

For about a couple years I've beginning to ponder about ways that humans can communicate at a macro level and what in past history has changed from now. One thing I've learned through learning about past civilizations, technology, and what we've discovered through archaeology, is that there was clearly a significant change in how humans communicated or were in touch with each other. I've thought that somehow there must have been something relatively simple on this planet that was made to truly connect us all. I have no doubt in my mind that there were different forms of energy and technology that our "prehistoric" ancestors had knowledge if. When I heard about DMT and what people had began to say about what it did, my mind exploded.

I have no interest in doing psychedelics recreationally or really doing any in general for the most part. The only thing I'm really interested in doing is DMT. I have no preparation or experience as I said in the psychedelic category, but ever since I've learned about DMT and read more and more about it on this site, the more ready I feel about taking it.

As I said, I have no desire for tripping just to do it. I want to do this for what it is. I want to experience the affects of DMT to truly understand it's potential ability.

Anyways, sorry about the long post. I'm just very excited to have heard about something as potentially powerful as DMT, and I'm looking forward to discussing with you all on here about how it is and your personal recommendations or thoughts.

Thanks for your time.
Antonio

Howdy Antonio,

fellow 21yo college student here as well

Firstly, welcome to the nexus! Sounds like your definitely in the right place my friend. There is enough succulent information here that even after months of downloading it into your noggin it'd make only a dent

DMT is baffling beyond comprehension, and i think a lot of psychedelic exploration is necessary before almost anyone can even begin to get close to "truly understand its potential ability". Just my opinion. Also, have you looked into ayahuasca yet?

"I have no interest in doing psychedelics recreationally or really doing any in general for the most part. The only thing I'm really interested in doing is DMT."

The great under-emphasized fact about mushrooms is that they can be VERY DMT like, although they have their own character. You can actually have a breakthrough experience with them, especially in silent darkness. And their length makes them very good for deep journeys you can learn to work with. Many here love dmt a lot (especially the changa!), but i think most would agree that building a relationship with many of these fungi/plants is one of the most rewarding and beneficial ways to work with this stuff

OH, and never ever ever do an extraction in the dorms, obviously

anyways, stop by the chat sometime :]

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

My advice, keep reading the Nexus! Don't stop learning, and approach this with respect and a brave heart and you will be fine. This stuff IS incredibly powerful, but for the most part it is also very safe. Let us know how it goes! Cool

Thanks for the responses! I appreciate the input.

I'll definitely be researching more into everything with psychedelics so I can figure out exactly how I want to go on with all of this. I always had a desire to try mushrooms but every time the opportunity has come up it's ended up falling through. It probably would be smarter for me to begin with those before getting to DMT though most likely.

Ayahuasca sounds unbelievably awesome but I'm definitely not qualified at the moment to make it I don't think. Once I get more used to everything I'll begin trying it out.

No rush bro,

Take your time. Do your research. Give the cosmic ineffable its proper respect... and you will be fine.

You are at the threshold of an adventure that (has/will) last(ed) lifetimes. The fact that you came here means you are probably ready. Be cognizant. Take baby steps... and conscript some solid heads to be your journeymates.

All the best...

Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it." ~ Buddha

Once you've started down the journey toward understanding (don't worry, you'll never get there!)... Once you've set your mind in that direction, there's no such thing as "tripping just to trip", every psychedelic experience is a step on that journey.

The spice is amazing, one of Nature's great gifts. But picture this: 600ug of clean liquid LSD or 5g shrooms. You've fasted for most of the day, just some fresh fruit and water, and ritually prepared your space. Friends know not to drop by, phones off. 20 min before sundown you ingest your dose, then cue up your very carefully selected music (Spongle anyone? Maybe start with Al Gromer Khan's Future Lounge).

Lights dim, volume unobtrusive, temperature just right. You're in bed, or your favorite couch. Notepad handy. You'll start coming on in 40-60 min, maybe a tremor or a little chill up the spine. A mild electric sensation perhaps... And then the first hint of interesting visual stuff, both open and closed eye.

I won't spoil any of the big surprises here, but the point I'm trying to make here is that you can really make use of that whole six hours. The peak happens before the halfway mark, lasts about an hour. You might sweat through parts, but with the right mindset going in, the whole experience of ego death, of feeling those boundaries dissolve... You want some time to digest that. It can be giddy, ecstatic.

After the peak, spend some time with your favorite art books or art that you've done. Try bringing back a few nuggets from your inner journey- put some of your discoveries into words, write it all down. This can help you to recall the experience.

Work done on LSD and shrooms can help you to be better prepared to make the most of the DMT experience. It can also be shitloads of fun. Don't feel guilty about that- it's still legitimate research.
