I've been considering quitting my adderall for some time now..... It wasn't working anymore, (after about 8 years of heavy use) and it kept blocking my explorations. Ruining my sex life etc... etc...

When I did Aya recently ... it like "reset" my central nervous system somehow.... and now Adderall feels good again... But i'm thinking maybe I should of quit after my "purification" of sorts?

any help here would be great

Regardless of how "good" amphetamines feel, unless used very sparingly they are going to be bad for your body/mind/(and I would assume)soul. I don't know any pharmacological reasons that would be behind amphetamine feeling "good again" after the use of Ayahuasca, but I highly recommend ceasing and desisting one or the other altogether. Things like that I would be putting AT LEAST double the total elimination time between its use and the use of any MAOI.

If you did in fact feel "purified" after your use of ayahuasca, why then do you feel the need for amphetamine still, even with the understanding that it was damaging at least portions of your self and keeping you from exploring more vaulted realms of thought and being? I'm not a psychedelic purist by any means, and have found holiness in stimulants, but heavy amphetamine use is almost 100% of the time a soul and body rotting undertaking...

do not mix adderall and harmalas..to do so is extremely dangerous.

If you feel good after ayahuasca than why start taking the adderall again? Once the adderall is clear from your system enough to no have interactions I would take a full dose of ayahuasca then follow up with microdoses for a while.
Long live the unwoke.

i accidently smoked a harmala laced joint on a day when i took adderal

boy it gives a really strong heartbeat Smile

It was a very beautiful expierience, rue harmalas and ganja. I doubt the adderal did anything then increasing my heartbeat and making me more awake.

Dosage:

10mg oral adderal

60-80mg harmalas

0,2 gramm of skunk
blessed be all forms of intelligence

Im quite certain that most shamans would put "amphetamine" (if they could get it in nature) in their brews of aya...... Hell they put tons of nicotine and other shit....

Yes for me adderall is both godsend and a horrible cross to bear..... I really just am a lazy depressed sack of shit without it for the most part.... but with it, I'm not always on the same wavelength as those close to me... if that makes sense.

I have a plan to quit by my 30th birthday ... about five years.

Using a mixture drug holidays, yoga, running, meditation and supplementation - - Ive found my adderall lifestyle managable. Time off is the best thing... and one day with enough personal training ... No need for speed

Have you tried regular exercise, going for a morning / evening walk?

These are important, but even more so is watching your own thoughts.

Two interesting books on the subject are Feeling Good, which I've read entirely (it helped a lot back then) and The Mindful Way Through Depression, which I'm reading now - so far it's good, has a lot of common ground with Feeling Good.

I've struggled with depression on and off for many years. While I never abused it for more than 2 weeks in a row, cannabis helped by taking my mind off the bad feelings. Other times it didn't, because it made me overanalyze whatever was bothering me, and in the end when I couldn't figure it out, it usually only made me feel worse.

I always knew that depending on ANY substance to feel good would be a major mistake though, and accordingly delayed my first MDMA experience until many years later: it was an amazing experience, I finally remembered how it felt to be happy again and was very thankful for it, and by then I was already in a mindset where I was absolutely sure I wouldn't abuse it for the purpose of feeling happy - and didn't.

What really changed, in retrospect, is that now I accept that there are times when I'll be sad, other times I'll be happy and some other times it'll be sort of neutral. The thing with depression is that you really believe "this" is going to last forever, that it'll always be like this. It's a horrible distortion.

Anyway - I saw some stuff that needed to change and tried to do so. Some I managed, some are still in progress, but I don't beat myself up about it anymore.

The whole subject of course ties in perfectly with psychedelics and being in the moment, meditation, mindfulness, etc.
These days I don't think much about past mistakes or worry a lot about future challenges. There's nothing I can do *right now* about it. Sometimes I still catch myself going rambo about predicting the future and trying to anticipate everything, but these days usually catch myself and gently return to the moment. Not always, but the frequency has been increasingSmile

Basically in retrospect I've been learning how to make myself happy.
It's a long long journey, if you're going through the same, don't be discouraged.

Just thought I'd share, I hope you find something of value in this.

Those things are minor alterations while addy is a more prolonged alteration that has the ability of pushing to far. It's just a personal belief but I think we are on a certain wavelength for this reality push it to far in another direction and your looking at death or spiritual strain. Take it with a grain of salt if you must but addy is still bad Embarrased

To be honest, the prescription of adderall, Ritalin and similar amphetamines is something to be sceptical about. I applaud to everyone voicing their opinions about it and presenting alternatives.

We're talking about highly addictive substances here, people.

motiv311, what is the reason your doctor prescribed aderall ? I think this also needs to be considered.

Id get some iboga and get off the speed addiction. I would get a new doctor to be honest..Schools think they can manipulate people into things like that all the time. They told my mom I needed the same thing but thankfully she told them to frak themselves. Not all doctors believe in drugging kids with speed etc and teachers are not qualified to push these kinds of decisions, though I know for a fact that they do as my mother is a teacher and some teachers do try to push parents to drug their kids.

find a new doctor who will give an alternative opinion if you are not happy taking speed every day.
