MDMA to counteract depression Options

Recently, I attempted to disengage myself from opiate addiction. IMO one of the hardest parts of withdrawl is the depression that comes along with it. So, I had the idea that maybe a little extra dump of seratonin couldn't hurt. I used very small amounts, small enough to not actually feel any psychedelic effects. And throughout a span of 3-4 days administered it 1 or 2 times daily, as needed. Honestly it helped, but what I'm wondering is: if this could help for temporary depression couldn't it, in theory, work on a regular basis? I know in its hayday MDMA had all sorts of practical applications in psycology but is there any recent usage? Say in...terminal patients? Etc?

I think mescaline microdosing is much better/safer in the long run but that is just my prediction..as well as caapi microdosing..

With a microdose of mescaline or san pedro preferably there is a definite mdma like glow except you dont get a seratonin crash, and mescaline lasts much longer. You wont need much as this is below psychedelic doses..just enough to barely feel it..for me even 1g of decent torch is enough.

With caapi microdosing I actaully think that the best thing to do is to dose the caapi and some admixture..so say 5-10g of caapi with like 1/4g mimosa maybe or equal ammounts of another andmixture. This inmy experience is alot more theraputic than just caapi alone. Most peoplw would assume that at that level the admix would not work at all..but it definatily does work on a background level and the glow is more glowy than if you just use caapi..again very empathic feeling and more earthy than mdma.

..then again you must be careful with opiates and RIMA's so mescaline might be a good choice as you cant just dose mdma for a long period and not expect seratonin crash.

I would imagine MDMA only making depression worse. I do take PassionFlower Daily for anxiety, it clears my head like magic. I would recommend something more natural, and def not anything stimulant related like MDMA. I know all about addiction. I have been clean just over a year now, It's tough I know. Depression will eventually subside. I think it has more to do with making concious decisions everyday to be happy. Let it all pass through you. It can only get you if you hang on to it.

Psilocybin seems to be a good option to helping one out of a depression rut.

Daily use of Psilocybin can cause depression as well. At least it did with me, a microdose daily might be helpful. Or perhaps every couple weeks one big dose.

I think you should have only one 120-150mg full MDMA experience and then work on what you've discovered !

Daily microdosing of mdma makes no sense.

Also, I can't encourage you enough to try Iboga if you've had issues with opiates, it's said to be a miracle cure, check ibogaworld.com, they have great ibogaine

If your're gonna use MDMA to treat depression, why don't use it the way it works best: take it with your best friends and/or family and have deep conversations about the stuff that gave you depression in the first place. Excellent group therapy.

-MDMA is usually indicated in the treatment for PTSD, rather than depression. Psilocybin is far better suited IMO. Depression needs something with much greater impact. Salvia is also known to work well. Ultimately, whilst shrooms or salvia may shock people out of their derpessions by showing them the "bigger picture" to what is, they still need to look after their "earthly lot" to maintain a path of clarity to this knowledge: such as healthy living, and healthy thinking, etc. Whilst family and friends can offer support, the individual should really do their best to find their own understandings about the truth of their depressions, and deal with it, or it will persist.

-Most Depressions revolve on people placing far too much importance on small meaningless things as if they are permanent, rather than focus on the bigger picture of life which is always changing, and never still. For this reason, i think it's important to do some studying about how the mind works,etc. Family and friends helps, but is not everything.Cool

I think this may backfire on you, perhaps you'll feel great during the experience and for the rest of the day, but then you'll be depleted and feeling even worse.

MDMA is good to realize/understand things and bond with other people/have more-than-honest conversations with yourself, but there is a price to pay (the crash).

IMO not something one should do with any frequency.
This is the time to really find out who you are and enjoy every moment you have. Take advantage of it.

There will be no crash if you only take one dose (120-150mg), hydrate enough and don't repeat before 3 months.

It's a matter of knowing how to use this wonderful drug.

I've never tried anything other than 125mg, and every time including the first I had a crash a few days later. Hydration was never a problem, drank plenty of water and generally stood still.

For me there's always a afterglow, but after a few days I feel down. Eventually this resolves itself.

I don't use MDMA frequently at all, and except one time, always with 4-6 month intervals.


Maybe there are other factors at play, the above has been my experience with it. And you're right, it is wonderful.
This is the time to really find out who you are and enjoy every moment you have. Take advantage of it.

If you are serious about beating depression then quit trying to figure out what you can ADD to make it better and start contemplating what you can REMOVE to make it better.


As a start I'd highly recommend removing all drugs including caffeine, alcohol, and refined sugar.

Avoid toxic media.
Avoid toxic friends.
MDMA would be about the worst thing for depression IMHO.
Avoid Marijuana.
Avoid over eating....eat just enough to fill your self.

Exercise to exhaustion EVERYDAY.


You do those things above for 1 month and you are still depressed then consider a drug based option.

My advise usually doesn't sit well with depressed people because the last thing a depressed person wants to do is give up things that make them happy and they usually don't feel like they have the energy to go exercise. Well...my advice is simple. BUCK UPI It's your life and you can do it and become happy and productive OR face a life of prescription drugs and an endless battle with depression.

Get involved with life again. Join a group that interests you. Start learning something new. Make a goal list and then achieve every goal on your list. Start to mentally tell yourself that you are capable...that you are sufficient. Never allow negative self thoughts to dominate your mind...yes I know this is hard. But depression, most depression, is self inflicted via substance abuse, lack of exercise, diet, and pathological thought processes. People don't become depressed over night and they don't often snap out of it over night either.

I've dealt with depression and anxiety for many years (I'm currently 27, and I remember being depressed when I was 8 ). I'm finally overcoming my issues and crawling out of what feels like the darkest cave in the universe.

In my opinion, MDMA would be about the worst possible thing you could experiment with. You'll go from feeling extremely down, to happy, to being more down than you were before. I think MDMA may help some people "remember" what it's like to be happy again, but as Joedirt put so well:

I don't know what your depression stems from, but I personally feel DMT, harmalas, exercise, and cleaning up your diet are your best option. I used breakthrough doses of FB to overcome my sense that life was meaningless. I then used aya and changa to overcome the deep emotional issues and anger I had buried for years and years. Exercise serves as an outlet for anxious thoughts, and a clean diet is something you can continually work on, which will make you feel better physically and emotionally as you feel yourself improving on a daily basis. Talk to Jamie for a few minutes in chat and you'll realize that you could spend the next five years trying to improve your diet and you're still eating garbage!

I personally feel Depression is one of the worst things a human can possibly experience, and that the way out is the painful path of using DMT and harmalas to discover, diagnose, and eliminate deep seated emotional issues. I think MDMA would only serve to mask issues and prevent them from being dealt with.

I wish you many blessings. Spending more time here is also one of the best way to ensure you are taking steps to improve yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually.
