This is a segment Michael Moore decided not to put into the documentary "Sicko".

I'm sure there's alot of bad things that aren't being mentioned. No place is perfect, but from this video Norway sounds pretty great. What's the catch? Is there maybe someone here on the nexus that's from Norway that could chime in?

it is in many different ways :-)
moore tends to have a narrow focus though sometimes imo, but it is a great society from what i have seen. thanks to them for that :-)

this is not our picture. my father couldnt take a sharp shot as i was laying there as a little boy on my stomach, looking over the edge ;-)

Interesting , Id like some confirmation from someone who was born in Norway. Anyone from Norway would like to comment on this ?

I was born and raised in Norway, still living here as of today. Now, obviously this clip is rather one-sided and narrow, showing only some of the most positive sides of Norway and blowing them up to epic proportions. While our country runs on some very beautiful principles and is overall very good no doubt, we, as all other countries, have our weak spots and internal political and social challenges. It's not like this is some fairy tale perfect country, as it almost would seem from this clip, but it is certainly one of the best countries to live in.

From this thread.

If an escape from bigotry and ignorance is the main reason for moving, I would strongly advice against coming to Norway. Hypocrisy is widespread in the public dialogue, politics are about the same as in the U.S., and as for personal liberties, a recent december 2011 survey reported that 88% of the population actively support the war on drugs.

However, if you enjoy seasonal affective disorder, 25% sales tax, super high costs of living, soviet style state monopoly on countless services, and much more, then you should absolutely move here!

Norway is great for holiday visits, lots of nice stuff to see, but personally I'll be relocating my everyday life away from here within 6 months.

Got GVG ? Mhm. Got DMT ?
