Can anyone recommend a good torch lighter? What types do people use. Im paranoid about buring myself on one, so Ide like to see one that shuts on and off with grip; or is this not even a factor? X

Turboflame arc seems to be the choice, a bit expensive but its ideal apparently. Im planning on getting one at some point. -ะฏ ฮ โ ฮฉ L U T โ Ø N-

When I got the GVG, I went through 3 expensive torch lighters, all more expensive than the Arc. They were all terrible. They would constantly malfunction in a variety of ways at the worse times making blasting off like operating in surgery. It was extremely frustrating. I'm sure if I were using them for their intended purpose, they'd be fantastic, but the thing is that most torch lighters aren't designed to be lit upside down (which is the only way to do it for the GVG). As a result, they quickly begin to malfunction. The Arc torch lighter on the other hand is designed to be lit on any angle. Once I got the Arc, going deep with small amounts of DMT became easy, consistent and effortless. The Arc has failed to disappoint me yet and I've had it for just slightly under a year now. Go with the Arc, and you won't regret it. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

does the turboflame arc say anything on it? i just picked up a lighter from a headshop and it looks identical to the turboflame. mine says ZiCO on the side and it cost 20 dollars. worked just fine for a bit, then the flame kept shutting off instantly then wouldnt ignite. i had to boost up the flame distance just to get it going again. doesnt seem right as above, so below

Two things: make sure to warm up the lighter in your hands before using it, and try refilling the butane. If you refill the butane, warm it up in your hands (it will go cold after adding more butane anyway), and are still having troubles, then I'm sorry to say you're probably screwed with that lighter if it persists with the same troubles. I just got one of those soto knock offs tor $5. Works amazingly and you refil it with a regular butane lighters. My exwife and I used to collect butane lighters so I'll put my 2cents in here...
I've had hundreds of those novelty lighters you buy at gas stations/tobacco stores. Most will only last about a week. In otherwords they're pretty to look at but garbage. The pencil type torches usually don't last to long either. A good one from a hardware store is the way to go. Try to find one where the torch is set at a 90 degree angle then you can use it anyway. I bought a Microtorch by Roburn 15 years ago and it still works great! Plus it's just an all out handy tool to have around the house..
