Well,
I've had antibiotics, steroids, nasal irrigation through lengthy periods and surgery 2 months ago. Now it's back and i feel crappy (dizzy, tired, nauseated) all day long and i fear that this will never end. Does anyone have an idea what else to do? I havn't tried high-dose enzymes yet, as this is very expensive...

Obli - I have had 2 surgeries on my sinuses and probably suffer the way you do. The only thing I have found that works is a saline nasal rinse, (North American brand name "NeilMed sinus rinse".) It sounds like you may have already tried this, but during rough periods, it generally clears it up for me in a couple of weeks rather than several months if I do it once or twice daily.

I hope you find something to relieve it. I know the headaches and eye and sinus pain well, and it is utterly miserable.

Wishing you quick relief,

I would approach that (or any health issue basically) from the dietary approach. What is your current diet like ? What don't you eat ?

Some feedback about the diet from (ex)sufferers, some ideas about specific treatments, experiences from people in the paleo community, 1 - 2 - 3.

Starting paleo diet would look like this. Strict 30 days.

If you plan of following the neti pot way, here is some data you should be aware of.

This report suggests that it might be actually a fungus related.
Got GVG ? Mhm. Got DMT ?

I used to always have a sinus infection..like once every month it seemed. I also had ear infections that seemed related to the same problem and had to wear ear plugs every time I went swimming as a kid.

After cutting out all dairy, meat and wheat though and getting on raw foods with clean water, I dont get them anymore. I cant remember even having one in over a year, which used to be unthinkable for me. Some nuts also bother me too and I think were not good for this, like peanuts for sure. Alot of nuts that are sold, even ones labled "raw" are like rancid and contain alot of mold..peanuts are horrible for this. Alot of store bought cashews are as well. That would be not good if this is a fungus thing.

A very clean diet that does not produce mucus in the body with lots of liquids to flush stuff out should help. Dairy and meat cause alot of mucus in the body, which is your number one enemy when it comes to colds, sinus infections etc..

I believe that these sorts of things are fungus related. Maybe you have candida.

It's not really a great source but from Wiki "A major function of this mucus is to protect against infectious agents such as fungi, bacteria and viruses. The average human body produces about a litre of mucus per day"

Based the reports that I've pasted above I can't agree that eating meat causes the excessive mucus*. Gluten, diary and plant oils (those with high omega 6 content) seem to be more common offenders.

I believe this to be true. I used to get sinus infections 30 times a year it seemed like. I haven't yet completely cut out meat and dairy(is a massive struggle for me for some reason), but i have drastically cut down on dairy and eat chicken, turkey, and fish only for the most part and outside of seasonal allergies i have very little sinus problem now.

I think diet plays a major role in mental and physical health

Diet is the way to go my friend I had similar problems and after a raw food diet and less meat I do not have these problems any more. If you have to have some meat that have rabbit , lamb or wild fish. Definitely not pork. Also try to avoid chicken (rather have turkey).

First 30days I would do just raw vegetable and fruit diet maybe some nuts but nothing else and always drink only filtered water never from the tap. Drink only water nothing else. Drink lots of water every day.

Have you heard about rock salt and water solution rinse ? I know it sound harsh but it is a very good old medicine to clear your sinuses. I have done it numerous times and it always helped me. First time was not easy though PleasedJust make salt and water solution and then breath it in through your nose till it start coming out of your mouth. Do it two or three times or as you feel you need.It may take few times to get the technique right. Do not worry about getting it to your lungs it wont happen.

More than 10 years ago I suffered from chronic sinusitis, and underwent surgery after taking loads of antibiotics. Yet my health problems didn't go away as I was hoping. I had a huge lifestyle change 4 years ago when I became a vegetarian, and started to move more. This combination of healthy diet and movement is the key in my opinion. I don't remember being sick at all since then.

If you're feeling weak, start by going out for walks where the air is clean, and gradually build up a movement routine that you stick to. And of course, eliminating toxins from your diet is necessary, as any chronic disease points to immune problems.

Another tip that helped me was inhaling the vapors of Chamomile tea, very efficient in reducing nasal congestion and cleaning the sinus passages. Try it as a quick-fix!

get a device like this one or similar http://www.yogameditation.com/Products/NoseBuddy

learn how to properly use it and use it twice a day

if other untreated infections exist then there would be more to do but first clean your nose with saline solution every day

EDIT: forgot to say, this single technique will most likely get rid of your sinusitis, i had it too for years Smile
blessed be all forms of intelligence

Obli, chances are you can pick some cedar somewhere near your house for free. Pleased Cedar, lavender, and mugwort (small amounts!) also work wonders in a neti pot and make the experience more pleasant. I broke down under stress a month or two ago and had the WORST time with my sinuses... and the herbed neti pot had me breathing normally in a day or two.

Best wishes, hope you're feeling better.

Harmala and vinegar nasal spray (at a slightly acidic pH) seems to be promising for me. Harmalas are antibacterial and might do the trick. Burns like the devil unless you add some anesthetic like lidocaine though.

All these posts are on behalf of Stimpy, my yellow bullhead. He is an adventurous fish, and I feel his exploits are worth sharing...so much so, I occasionally forget that HE is the one who does these things. Sometimes I get caught in the moment and write of his experiences in the first person; this is a mistake, for I am an upstanding citizen who never does wrong. Stimpy is the degenerate.
