Preparing the final step on my first extraction and want to recrystallize my white fluffies. I found a science supply store online and ordered reagent grade acetone and 99.9% pure reagent grade IPA. Any subjective difference between using one or the other?

Recrystallization is different from redissolving.
Acetone works perfectly, I don't see how IPA would do the job better. Altough I wonder if IPA would cause less color change, which actually isn't a big deal anyway...

If you want to recrystallize to clean it further or make large crystals, you should use naphtha or other solvents like heptane.

I'm just interested in doing it to ensure that I don't have any naptha still trapped with my crystals... Mainly to clear my head so I'm not worried about it. Both IPA and Acetone have been recommended, I just wasn't sure if there was any difference between using one or the other since I'll have both at my disposal. :-/
