Hi there,

I've been making and taking the MHRB/Rue combination for some time, and this problem has come up more than once. Just recently, it's been happening fairly often.

Sometimes, for no reason I can clearly find, I'll take a dose and it won't activate all the way.

A fully activated dose: Extraordinarily colorful and enveloping, glittering lights and gem-like filaments.

A not-fully-activated dose: Shadowy, distant, coming in fits and starts. The kind where you open your eyes about an hour and a half in and go: "Is this IT? Is this all?"

I've taken mimosahuasca many, many times, and I've been unable to find a foolproof way of avoiding this problem. I've tried changing the dose of mimosa, the dose of rue, the method of brewing, the fineness of the ground rue, the amount of liquid consumed, and so forth, without lasting success. Sometimes I'll get the full ride, and it will be AMAZING. Other times, I'll get the shadowy half-trip, spend the time going 'come on, come on, come ON..." and end up frustrated.

The latter seems to happen a lot when I'm administering it to others, too. Remember Michigan J. Frog from those old cartoons? I feel like that guy who could see him dance when he was alone, but as soon as he got other people to look...nothing. Just a frog again.

Anyone have any suggestions? Are any of you having the same problem, and have any of you been able to remedy it?

Prepare more mimosa than you intend to drink so if you don't like where you're at, you can drink more. Alternatively if you have DMT freebase, you can smoke/vape some which with the combination of mimosa and rue should have you well on your way to the other side of the galaxy for a bit.

Try taking the MAOi first

I always take the MAOI first, then wait about 15-20 minutes for it to kick in before taking the mimosa. Does that fit, or should I try altering the time in some fashion?

if it is not working drink more. This never fails. Just drink more until it happens. Thousands od years of ayahuasca drinking cant go wrong. Traditionally if you arent there you drink more.
Long live the unwoke.
