The dish I used on one of my pulls, was accidentally greasy prior to pouring the DMTd naphtha into it. Now I have poured the naphtha off but I am left with crystals but with greasy layer on the sides. What can I do to remove the oil/fat from the crystals?
The dish got greasy because it was stored near stove which produced greasy fumes when cooking food... Thanks

Its not freebase is it ? If not maybe if you dissolve it in water the oil will separate no ? If it does you just have to evap the water. Just thinking Pleased but may be wrong , there may be a better method wait what others say

Any general cleaning up process should apply, and you can go from very thorough cleaning, which would be more recommended to be sure, or you could go to some more quick attempt, which might be enough but might also not be enough, hard to say because we dont know how this specific grease will behave.

A thorough cleaning up process would be redissolving in vinegar, doing a couple of defats with solvent, basing, pulling, washing with sodium carb, freezing (and maybe re-xing). A quick clean up would be simply attempting a re-x.... In the end its up to you to choose what is worth, depending on amount of DMT you have, on how bad you consider this grease to be, etc.

Let us know how it turned out.

It's only about 0.1-0.15grams...
I have thought of two simple options, would these work?
Redissolving in naphtha and doing sodium carbonate wash, or simply redissolving in acetone and pouring into another dish?

Or is re-x the simplest method?

so its freebase. in this case I would do the sodium carbonate wash and then re-x as well. I would do what endless said if it was more then that but with this amount I would not bother that much. But that's me Smile
