I was doing some experimenting and found a really fast way to speed up the evap time for changa:

I took a shot glass and inserted half a gram of spice + half gram of herb + between 8-10 ml's of acetone. Boil up a bit of water up on the stove. Remove the water from the stove then add slowly dip your shot glass in and out to prevent cracking (it's happend to me and it sucks lol). Drop the shot in and watch the acetone as it boils away while the spice gets absorbed into the herb.

The boiling point of acetone is around 56c so it easily boils away in hot water. you may have to re-heat the water a second time if the acetone stops boiling.

This will leave your herb damp but dry enough to spread out on a flat dish for further drying

Great technique! I always put my spice SA and herbs in front of a hot fan, i can watch it evap before my eyes. It even dries the soaked herbs fast, although u have to take care not to blow them away! Grinding your herbs into finer pieces definately helps speed up the evap time as well =)

Hot fan? You mean like a heater fan?

i dont even use acetone anymore. I just brew up some caapi leaf, remove the leaf after a few boils.. and then add the herbs i want and the dmt to the brew while reducing it

so if one where to make enhanced leaf with this method...
just dissolve dmt in a small amount of water, and evaporate onto herbs?
or say, brew some mimosa, then reduce, add herbs, and evaporate?

No, you are working with freebase DMT when making changa and it wont dissolve in water.

are we are talking about making a 10x + or - caapi Changa?

if so

What you would do is boil your leaves for an hour or two strain out your plant matter reduce it down, way down, down to an ammount that will saturate or soak the leaf you want to infuse and then some. Then evap it,as it gets close to being finished, dry, then take the ammonut of DMT you want to put in it and dissolve it into some warm IPA and mix this well into your 10x Caapi. Evap, Done!

The idea here is to use water as the solvent to pull your Harmalas instead of say a 91-99% IPA, like allot folks do. Water, I believe, is more efficient than IPA at pulling the harmalas from the leaf than IPA.

Now the title of this thread is -

changa short-cut

Using water as a solvent, though it may be more efficient, is not a fast way to make changa because of the ammount of time it takes to evap compared to IPA or Acetone or whatever solvents are used out there.

IMO/IME using water to make a 10x caapi works noticeably better, but if your in a hurry OR if you are just infusing herb or caapi leaf and you are not making a harmala fortified or a 10x caapi changa dont bother using water. Just disolve your DMT in the warm solvent of choice add it to your herb and evap. Done

Hope I didnt confuse you. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions regarding this.

Hey Ice House,
just to clear the confusion because it seems like you think im adding the solvent directly into the water. Im putting the whole shot glass into the hot water as if im doing a heat bath which leaves the leaf not dry but sticky in about 4 minutes.

Nope no confusion there. I knew exactly what you were doing and it seemed all right by me.
