Hi, Just wondering what the scoop is on how varying degrees of sleep deprivation might have an effect on a dmt trip. Based on first-hand experiences, or anything in the extant literature (I haven't read Strassman's book yet). I would imagine that in various ways the quality of the intoxication might be changed, perhaps the visuals would be dimmed, or maybe the opposite. Would there be a greater audio component? Might the length of the experience be altered, etc. Maybe after several days of no sleep, there would be a natural immunity to DMT built up and it would have no effect at all. It would almost seem worth staying up a few days to find out โ"I now see well: we cannot satisfy our mind unless it is enlightened by the truth beyond whose boundary no truth lies." - Dante, the Divine comedy, Paradiso, as translated by Allen Mandelbaum

I've talked to people who really like going 3 or 4 days awake and doing lsdmt. I've done dmt many times after one or two days awake so it definitely works and isn't dimmed down at all.. If anything I find it lasts longer and is much easier to transition into that state. Sleep dep by itself gets similar to mushrooms for me, and others have reported this as well. But it is different

Hello ApeironCertain, I find DMT to help a great deal with my sleeping patterns (poor sleeping patterns that is). Also, my friend who literally bounces off the walls loves DMT to help him sleep. I haven't seen studies on DMT and sleep, but I suggest you go over Strassman's work with melatonin. I think that's what started his path to DMT research. Hey A1pha, Thanks for the welcome! After nurturing a more than 15-year long fascination with DMT brought about by reading Terrence McKenna in the mid-90's, I certainly feel well at home here! I was thinking somehow that DMT use might normalise the amounts of melatonin and pinoline, (by kick-starting beta-carboline production perhaps?) somehow, which might account for that contented, well-rested feeling afterglow I've noticed. It's certainly a fascinating topic worthy of further exploration! As a nearly lifelong insomniac, it's also good to hear that there might be some potential there! I remember hearing from acidheads back in the day that occasionally surfaces would start crawling out of nowhere if they'd pushed themselves to stay awake too long...next time I pull an all-nighter I'm definitely going to see how things go.... Cheers! โ"I now see well: we cannot satisfy our mind unless it is enlightened by the truth beyond whose boundary no truth lies." - Dante, the Divine comedy, Paradiso, as translated by Allen Mandelbaum

I've dosed a number of times, many of them when I've been incredibly tired, hoping to see what taking DMT while sleeping would be like. I was simply unable to do it. When the DMT kicked in, I found it utterly impossible to sleep. The weirdest part of it is that when the DMT kicks in (for me, at least), it's like I'm in a waking dream. So I'll be woken up by the DMT kicking in and I feel like I'm still in a dream or dream-like state. The transition is REALLY weird, and incredibly cool. On a related note, I had a breakthrough on oral DMT about 2 months ago. Throughout the next week, I'd occasionally wake up in the middle of the night and I'll be damned if I didn't feel almost exactly like how I felt during that breakthrough. It's very hard to describe, but it kind of felt like my brain was humming very pleasantly. It's incredibly fun to wake up like that

people fall asleep on aya all the time..i love sleep at the tail end of an aya trip, i always feel great in the morning and have beautiful dreams. The vast majority of the time the purge, if it did come, would do so long before falling asleep. In any case its certainly not something to worry about. Aya does have some dissociative aspects- but if your puking, your gonna know it
