I tried again. I did as ragbar suggested, brewed 4:1 vine exactly how he said and drank it the next day. plus added some of the previous brew and 3 teaspoons of mhrb brew after a half hour or so. I waited and waited.Rolling eyes I would have re dosed after a couple hrs, but it was late and I had a big day the next day (today).

I had a few interesting cevs but that's it. Oh and a little nausea but no purge. The cevs were interesting, some bright red and blue flashes of light and a hand, very clearly a hand with a silver ring, came from behind for an instant and disappeared-- twice.

I ate well for a couple of days in advance, no cheese or meat, less caffine and fasted for about 9 hours before ingesting.

I give up for now. I have to say, I'm dissappointed.Shocked Crying or very sad

Visuals are not everything when it comes to ayahuasca. With ayahuasca moreso than DMT there is definatily a distinction between visuals and visions. The visions only happen when laying down in the darkness and dont really resemble smoking DMT at all.

Also..drink more. Drink until you really dont want any more if you have to. I drank 100g of vine today with a bit of chali and 2g of mimosa..I still felt like I could have had more..so I drank more caapi, never bothered to measure it..then I felt it really washing over me..I went and took another shot of mimosa and it was one of the best ayahausca experiences I have had. It was not super visual but I did experience very deep and complex interdimensional visions/dreams, and began to get that fear..but after it feels so good.. If I did not go drink more it might have just not pushed me into that place.

Do not be afraid to drink tons of caapi..it wont hurt you. Always have more ready. Dont wait hours either..if you arent feeling overwhelmed in like 40 minutes..drink more. When you get to that point where you think you might had had to omuch and start to worry a bit..then you are good. Thats when it really opens you up.

I also find that fasting is not the best way to get the full effects..it actaully seems less potent when I fast. I like to drink in the morning, after I eat a small bit of fruit..my stomach is mainly empty from sleeping all night..but the fruit I eat in the morning helps the brew digest. A small handful of berries a little bit before I drink is enough I find.

Long live the unwoke.

Also, something that worked for me, is if nothing at all is felt after about an hour, eat a small piece of bread with olive oil. Then you can almost feel a door opening up inside you and it falling through. Soon after, well all hell (or heaven, or neither) breaks loose.

Thanks for the quick replies. So what about the mimosa? I brewed 500g down to about 100ml, how many teaspoons or whatever to get a nice trippy dose? One time a couple weeks ago I dranklike 8 ounces of vine, and took an ~ounce of mimosa, and not much happened.

a week ago: I rebrewed the caapi, convinced I did something wrong, drank 4oz and had great dreams and a weird (in the good way) body feelings on that alone.

then last night did the above post. I was hoping to get those trippy teachings from other dimensions about life, my body and mind, the universe, collective consciousness with awesome body/mind shredding visions and visuals! You know the stuff one reads about here at the Nexus-like a heroic dose of mushrooms. Can one not participate in that kind of experience with aya?

I will try again with what you say.

500g!! My god thats an epic amount! Be careful with that. We can only assume it is your MAOI that is not working, so if you got the MAOI to work, and had like a teaspoon, you would be in for a wild ride! I recently had 7g MHRB and it blew me away. So 1ml should be the equivelant to 5g? That is all you should need.

500g? I think you're either confused, or bad at following directions...lol

I'm assuming the OP brewed enough for multiple experiences, although to boil 500g down to 100ml doesn't leave a lot of room for error on dosing.

Something doesn't sound right with your vine. With complete mao inhibition you will not feel well. Nausea, loss of balance and often, at least for me, tremors. There actually is inactive caapi out there. I've drank 200 g before, actually twice (same batch) of well brewed vine and felt absolutely nada. Like fractal says, don't be afraid to drink more. With the admixture you need to be more careful. It does take perseverance in the beginning. Good Luck.

does that apply to extracted caapi alkaloids? I'll take 200+ mg's of caapi extract and not really feel anything.

I do not agree that there is *no* resemblance, but they two layers are very distinct. My last experience, I thought of as "failed" just to find myself in a visionary spaqce a couple of minutes later. DMT creates fractals which kinda help trigger the visions and make them brighter and more vivid though. Caapi and DMT work well together!

Impatience and ayahuasca do not go well together.

Humblebee, how long did you cook for?

-I used white distilled vinegar..a tablespoon per pot.

-3x3 cooks.. at least

-Keep the water ALWAYS above the caapi and mimosa while your brewing until near the tail end of each 3 hour cook...then..slightly turn up the heat to start reducing into a manageable amount to pour off. Then proceed to pour fresh water and cover the caapi and mimosa and do the same thing throughout that I just described.

Here's a link to a brew I had made 2 days ago: The waves collapse tonight

Alot of people seem to miss out their first time with Aya or not feel much at all. This being my first time was UTTERLY AND EXTREMELY INTENSE. I really thought I wasn't coming back...

It's all in the preperation. It's a give and take..trust me.

Could your admixture be bunk? I bought a kilo of bunk mhrb; I was a very sad panda. I usually need 20 grams and up for a good dose of mhrb 40 is a breakthrough. It's always best to start small to get a feel for the potency of what you are working with though. I have not had the opportunity to work with caapi, and have only made juremahuasca. The rue is fairly easy and you can make a tea out of it within 10 minutes. I use anywhere from 4 to 6 grams of rue. I have brewed mimosa numerous times and after a lot of experimentation, I have found that 3 ten to thirty minute boils, sometimes more will be extremely effective. Once I used vinegar, but used far too much and the house stank for days. Lemon juice is touchy - too much will burn out some of the color. Always brew extra so that you can drink more if and when it is needed. With this mixture on an empty stomach it takes about ten to twenty minuted before the purge and then I just hang on for the ride. For me personally, 20 grams of mhrb is more akin to an eight of mushrooms (if I had to compare it to something).

The first time that I made juremahuasca, I made the mistake of cooking it all together. It worked, but I had to redose every hour. I talked to a friend of mine and he said, "you put all that effort into it, why not go a little further and make two brews?" Boy, was he right on the money! The next brew was incredible and then it was followed by a breakthrough after doubling my 20 gram dose. Many people, especially beginners seem concerned about the purge, but I have come to love it. The purge expells not only the brew, but all the things inside that one needs to let go of.

The last brew I made was strange as it took almost an hour to kick in, but when it did, it literally hit me like a brick! It felt as if someone struck me upside the head and that's when it took off. I had made the mistake of eating too soon before taking the brew. Aya truly does take patience and perserverance, but once you succeed, the benefits will make everything else seem trivial. Do not give up when you are so close.

The best advice that I have read, was always be grateful for your experience, no matter what happens.

"20 grams of MHRB is more akin to an eight of mushrooms"

Is that typical? From what I gather you need far less than that generally? Are you a hard head Ez?

I thought 20g MHRB is shooting for a total immersion experience?

I agree brewing is a huge factor I used 18 grams and had nothing, using the same MHRB with only 6 grams a later time I it kicked my ass. You probably should try a different brewing method. It's hard to find a good recipe mine is a basis of trial and error but I do pretty good these days=)
