I can remember the first time I "snapped" awake, as I put it. When I was a young child, whatever I was doing at that moment had ceased to be processed by my head, and I was fully shifted over to this modality associated with coordination, physicality, colour, light, sound, etc. I was taking in the many facets of our reality in our day to day live's in full core, there was no actual "items, objects, things, etc."

Merely the reality of the things themselves.

From that point on I have always had this over-arching perspective that topologically blankets everything I do, whatever activity, whatever project, thing I'm doing, or whatever I'm always staring at the world from behind my eyes wondering what it's all for.

And I feel it's an obsession almost, I mean really. Why is there over 7 billion people on planet earth, a little rock orbiting around a bigger star in size, but in relevance to the universe still miniscule in its clarity, and we are on this little earth not asking ourselves what the god damn eff sakes we're doing here and why!?

We were unable to remember consenting to this existance, and yet, we carry along as if it's ours to be made of and we are able to knock down whoever/whatever stands in our way, no matter what the consequence, in order to just gain a little more satisfaction in our lives.

I think many of us fill this void of not knowing why we're here with material objects, sexual posessiveness aka "my girlfriend my property", monetary wealth, so on and so forth, the physical, and perhaps illusory, side of things becomes idolized and held on a high pedastal. With many many others clammering to get to the top.

Here's the deal, I beleive there was a moment when our species went from being unaware of its existance to aware. In otherwords I dont think awareness and self reflection has been a part of the package in our historical evolution the entire time, regardless of your beliefs as to where we came from.

If you think about the trendless, mindless, aimlessly, meandering primeapes that we were to thought to have originated from, what on earth caused the break in the repetitous patterms? ie hunting, gathering, sex, raising children, the basics, in otherwords. What broke us away from "the basics?"

Well, if you think about what we did, it's not very complicated.

We woke up, wondered, foraged and tasted food, what wasn't thrown up was kept in inventory as to what's ok to eat. We also kept inventory of lethal plants, poisonous insects, etc.

I'm pretty sure we were very aware of the potential of psychoactive plants that are found in nature. (See where I always end up with this stuff?) haha.

Think of nature, flourishing for hundreds if not thousands of years without human, or any animal interference, at all. It grows, grows, nature thrives, something that's been long lost on this planet.

Im sure, with nature not being discriminatory with her children, would have allowed so many psychoactive plants to thrive and flourish, and with the variety, speciation, commonality (seriously), and bizarre effects/appearance of these psychoactives, they very well must be considered in the field of anthropology and so forth of what exactly the eff happened to cause us to catapult into humaness and imagination.

Look at psilocybin mushrooms if you really want to get anywhere with this idea of where we came from, because so far it's the only sure fire evidence and proof we've got of any decent theory as to what the shit happened.

Here's what they think happened, and I beleive happened as well;

Our hunting and gathering primeape ancestors. foraging through African grasslands, stumbled accross a certain species of mushrooms which contain psychoactive alkaloids. Most definately! Simply because the mushrooms, when left untouched, can grow up to 2 feet tall and the size of dinner plates! In otherwords, you cannot miss them

This had many many different effects on the monkey body brain mind system, depending on what dose we're talking here.

At low doses, doses so low you can barely tell you took anything, visual acquity is increased and edge detection is made easier. It's a basic trait that would have enable our primeape ancestors to find food, see predators, and scope out landscapes much easier. It's like chemical binoculars, almost. And they most definately gave us a leg up on the side of evolution.

At medium range doses, doses we would lable a "mild buzz" or "small high" actually cause CNS arousal, central nervous system arousal. The basis is you get more alert, more aware, more cautious, thought process speeds up, and erections in the male. So, you have primeapes seeing better, being more aware, having more success in food gathering, thinking faster, and more successful copulations (aka sex and babies) are taking place, so that's another point for this mushroom idea.

The higher doses even have something stranger to say to the consumer about the cosmos, the earth as a coherent whole, the god in the galaxy, the life in the forests, spirits in the wind, etc. In otherwords the primeapes are having ideas and abstract trains of thought about their reality. (Now this is how I think we began to get off our one track mind).

And, last but not least, the entire spectrum of the psychedelic experience. A full blown mushroom trip, where one cannot move, or do anything coherently, you're just nailed to the ground in euphoria and wonder. During this time, direct communication one to one associating around ghosts, demons, spirits, aliens, instects, wierd beings, in other dimensions and landscapes of otherwordly order come to life when the dose is taken around darkness. No artificial light to drown out the blackness, or to damper the stars, it's nothing but you and the universe I guess. The full, undoctored universe. It's safe to say there's some mind-blowing stuff going on right here. And in the course of the evening you experience oneness as a whole unity with the creator of it all. He is you, and you are him. Also worth noting in this state is that glossolalia occurs. Which is language in the absence of meaning, random mouth noises previously never understood or uttered get said. So, it seems like a catalyst for language formation as well, new syllables and combinatory sounds can be made which never were before. More variety means more words.

Normal conciousness is created by a neurotransmitter called seratonin, and at night seratonin and dimethyltriptamine (another strong pyschedelic and illegal?! compound that is in the human brain) switch over and dimethyltriptamine takes the stage. This is where the heavy dreaming during rem sleep takes place.

Seratonin, Dimethyltriptamine, and Pscilocybin are all very structurally similar. Experiencially not so much. But besides that, it seems like we developed neurotransmitters over time through the frequent interactions with the mushrooms. More reserach is still being done but it's another small piece of evidence with this puzzle.

Eventually the mushroom, for climatalogical factors became unavailable, and the old patters of primeape behavior took place because the ego-dissolving/boundry-dissolving/nature-centralizing qualities of the mushrooms were no longer to be had.

So, we got angrier, we started maintaining territory, women, food, rocks, etc. Boundries boundries boundries..

Ever since then, the entire human historical process has been our nostolgia for this lost paradigm, and nothing does it, money, cars, sex. etc.. we're the unhappy monkey.

Take some time and find the anthropologists behind this stuff, real studies. I had to find them so so can you.Books are a great way to start. It's all simple stuff. There's many scriptures, paintings, pictures, and still existing many tribes that all point towards these plants as being the thing. That, "thing." Y'know?

The mushrooms are interesting to begin with, because the mushroom is nn-4phosphoroloxy-nn-dimethyltriptamine. This means there is a phosphorous molecule substituted at the four position in the molecule. Here's the headline, this is the ONLY 4-substituted indole hallucinogen in nature. TTHE ONLY. Nature doesn't build or work like that, nature builds in steps on whatever is previously established. So, what this suggests is, it's either very unique, or it's an extra terrestrial mushroom.. the psychoactives that contain pscilocybin, anyways. The physical stature of the mushroom shows promising capacity for outer space travel. It's spores are deep ultra violet blue, the colour they would have to be to absorb uv rays in deep space, and they require an environment to be stored in that's similar to outer space.

So, a wierd unique make up of this psilocybin molecule, and the flirtacious evidence that shows idealistic outer space travel.

So is the mushroom a hyperdimensional extraterrestrial galaxy cowboy or something?

It's promising at this point, maybe doubtful to some, but the content of the experience is what promises users hard headed evidence.

We're not talking about reading the bible, waiting 60 years and then dying and hoping all the praying you did in church every sunday and maybe wednesday was worth it. nor are we talking about hard prayer or strenuous yoga structure, or any of these types of pedal to the metal go go go ditszy practices.

The shamanic style of psychedelic journeying is probably the oldest living religion on the planet. and the most promising, simply because the power of these plants to shake loose anybody's hard headed mindset or bitchy attitude is so strong, that I beleive people sense this and shy away from it.

It's been understood that these plants pharmacologically intervene with previously established realms of thought in the psychology of the individual, in otherwords what is pushed by that individual's culture is removed from his/her way of understanding, and the real-situation of any situation replaces it.

So rather than seeing your nice car or fancy house as a great fancy thing that makes you a better person, you see it as an expensive piece of garbage that burns fuels, uses oil, costs too much money that doesn't hold real currency anyways, and you realize that you're not really happier with this stuff, it's all illusory.

Cultres just promote the business of whatever they beleive in, whether or not its for the benefit of the culture, or the citizens. So culture's and their ideologies grow like a cancer, they root themselves in and spread their word (and bullshit, if you wanna go that far).

So if certain psychedelics remove cultural conditioning, bringing you back to the reality of the situation...

Then it's no wonder otherwordly contact and strange phenomena with beings take place, this things take place outside of the domain of culture! So when you're watching maury, dr phil, mtv, driving the too loud car, thinking your girlfriend is your property, you're thinking in the way of culture. It's like culture is an operating system, and psychedelics dissolve that operating system and update you with a newer, better version. If your mindset is open to these things then they become possible, that's simply what this is, a synergizing of the brain's mental functioning to more open ended versions of reality. In other words more possibilities are seen much easier because the culture's attitude of "no this stuff is not real" is gone, and the impossible becomes possible.

Personally I know this is how magic was and probably is done, magic is real, and Im positive it cannot be truly acheive unless certain plants aid to the trick.

But that's perhaps what really has happened on planet earth in the past, many many millenia.

Monkeys ate some mushrooms, over long periods of time, kept returning to these mushrooms for many purposes, during which imagination, language, community, religion, language, art, poetry, dance, song, were all pulled up out of the primape brain. When this mushroom was taken from us, we were no longer the at one with nature hippie apes we had become, we tore up the planet and everything around us in an attempt to make ourselves feel some type of okayness with this situation..

..and that has led us to the destruction of planet earth, with everybody confused, bewildered, uneducated about drugs, held back from the truths of our pasts, held back from the possibilities of reality..

But we have failed to remember, and yet to discover, that the Garden of Eden, the lost paradise, Atlantis, the Alien, God, whomever or whatever higher thing you beleive in, we forget that it was all contained in the human imagination, which came from the mushrooms.

The mushrooms are the way back into the human imagination and the lost paradise, and that's what the entirety of human history is that we haven't reached yet... What we're looking for is right under our noses all along. And I say it again, you can experience these plants. They reach out to the user, lift them up, and carry him/her into its world, and show them what they have to offer. But with the number of people in our society smoking cannabis, and so few of us really care for nature, I think it shows that that's how much we're listening...

The whole situation is wierd anyways, regardless of any of the above. ^^

What's wierd is that anything is here, at all. Did it always exist? Where's it go? Why? For what? From what?...

Colour, sound, sight, senses, matter, space.. It's all wierd.

It's all so bizzare anyways. And is this a characteristic that we have to accept? That reality is strange in principle? That's what we have to work with?

Well our culture is not providing us any answers anymore, all we're doing is making better toys and being meaner jerks to eachother, this reality is cruel.

But nature's culture, nature's way of life. Isn't about being better, or degredation of another human being, or any of that. Nature is about equality, balance, peace, beauty, style, and the ugliness of death that gives birth to new life.

The biggest message of nature is that the boundry between living and dying does not exist. The spirit world is accessible, the after death state, you can get there. Nature can provide the way. Ayahuasca is a very interesting combinatory mixture whose effect is contact with the spirit world. This admixture contains the psychedelic Dimethyltriptamine.

That's all life seems to be for human beings anyways, the soul descends into matter, to play with and manipulate the properties of this dimension, only to shed matter and go back into whatever topological thing exists over this.

This is as dead as you can be.

Our theory of reality, as a society seems pretty gay anyways. It's all here by chance, for no reason, and for nothign more? There is an old idea about the universe, old idealogy of science. Called Eros and the Eschaton.

Eros is a unity, a beleif that everything from the smallest bottom quark, atom, whatever, is connected all the way up to the biggest and brightest galaxy. It's all a complete endless continuum of one thing.

The Eschaton of the last thing, the final thing.

These two ideas meant the end state of everything, it parted to reality a purpose, that it was moving somewhere..

Well, regardless of how much you beleive in the big bang, the most improbable and unlikely thing ever, (something, springing from nothing in an instant, for no reason, pfft yeah right) there's something that's gone on in the universe from day one. And here it is;

Moments after the big bang, you get an ocean of free electrons, at such a state of temperature and energy that no molecuar bonds can form, atomic systems cant even form because the bond strength is overwhelmed by the thermal energy in the system.

Then it cools down, and atoms condense, a more complicated thing than electrons by orders of magnitude.

Furhter cooling further primitive cooking of the most primitive elements in gravitationaly aggregated masses called stars, cooks out the heavier elements, they emerge they were never seen before until fusion began to occur into these hydrogen masses

These fusion processes cook out iron, sulphur, carbon, BINGO, carbon.

MOLECULES. now, an order of magnitude in their complexity, greater than atoms, as atoms are as compared to electrons.

Out of the molecular soup you get long chained polymers

Out of those you get molecular transcription systems like pre-biotic stuff

Then non-nucleated dna

Then nucleated dna out of that membranes, organelles, organisms, Dimensionality. Things perceived at a distance, the sense of things being there, sizes, shapes. Interaction between phenomena.

Higher organisms, differentiation of tissue, our dear selves, culture, language, technology,

This leads to something completely out of synch with the entire spectrum of what's happened, monkeys using numbers to process information and play with reality is ways never thought possible. The contemplation of existance and capacity to beleive oneself to be worthless, that's how powerful the mind is, we make ourselves feel useless at times we're so powerful.

And then the eschaton, the last thing. Whatever that is.

All this stuff, happens at a faster, and faster rate, the first change takes billions of years, halfway through you get hundreds of thousands, and in ourlifetime you get a change very drastic in a matter of minutes.

Change is accelerating, and if the universe gets more and more complex, faster and faster, then we are in for something big.

There's no reason for the universe to do this, get more complex, it does this for more reason at all..

All we can do is exist inside, for our small window of oppourtunity that we have to view this experience.

I wish I could bring peace to this world for the time we are here.. it's so easy. All we have to do is try.

Could be the Best. Planet. EVAR!!

That was an enjoyable summary of McKenna, Stamets, and your own commentary, I like that. Very happy I have a question though:

What is wrong with Cannabis?!

^ ^ This.

If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.

Well perhaps I belittled cannabis too generally in that post..

As for my personal experience with it, it was an issue of finances, lung health, and mental focus.

Personally Im better off without
