I keep seeing all these inefficient teks, unneeded steps, wasteful use of supplies and poor yields. This is a straight to base tek, and I always pull at least 6 to 7 good grams off a pound of bark.

Supplies:

1 Lb MHRB powder from MOD WROTE: NO SOURCES OUTSIDE OF SUPPLIERS SECTION
1.5 Lbs of Sodium Hydroxide from Essential Depot
1 Large can of Zippo Brand Lighter Fluid (fuck VM&P Zippo brand works just as good)
2 3-5 liter glass jars with screw top lids (i like the 3$ MT Olive pickle jars from walmart)
1 Pint size mason jar with lid
1 gallon distilled water
turkey baster
Glass measuring cup

1) Dissolve a half pound to a pound of lye into 1 liter of distilled water and stir till you can tell its dissolved (10-15 minutes should do)

2) Split the pound into halves and place in one half in each jar.

3) Pour 1 liter of baseified water on each half pound of Powder, stir and shake jar for 1-2 days. Let the base do its job.

4) Pour half of lighter fluid into each jar, turn jars end over end and side over side for 5-20 minutes at least ten different times, NEVER shake.

( Jars now contain half pound MHRB Powder half pound NaOH 1 liter of distilled water and 2 fluid ozs of Zippo brand lighter fluid)

5) The lighter fluid will seperate from the water layer and you will use the turkey baster to suck only the lighter fluid off the top of the jar, and place the lighter fluid into the mason jar (It will be just a little too much lighter fluid for the mason jar, i always let it evaporate down till it fits, then its always super saturated as well)

6) Put mason jar into the freezer over night, in the morning pour the lighter fluid off and the DMT should remain stuck to the bottom of the jar, let dry, scrape off bottom with spoon or little knife.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 2-4 times or until you pull 7 grams in total.

so in step 6, you pour the lighter fluid back into its mason jar right?

Lighter fluids have lubricants and anti rust chems added to work in lighters. When you reduce down you concentrate these chems along with the DMT and they become dangerous especially will common use. Welcome to lung cancer eta 3 yrs....

Man, I'm so scared that I'll do an extraction and mess it up somehow and not know, then smoke it and kill my lungs. I've been reading about the process on and off for a couple years, and a lot recently, but I really don't want to give myself cancer. I hope when I finally choose an extraction technique and complete it that I have the guts to actually smoke it!

This is why I would say to anyone curious about a spice extraction for their first time that q21q21 is the best way to go, you can count on some were around a 1% yield when using q21q21 tek/2 without any concerns about purity. Just use the products he suggest and if you have any questions someone will def answer. Not to offend by suggesting another tek on this thread It's just that I feel a little better knowing I could help someone elses self assurance going into an extraction for the first time. I wouldn't feel too comfy using Lighter fluid, and I would feel a lot better about lime as opposed to lye even if it is a weaker base.

Also I don't really feel the teks to be insufficient, if followed correctly they should produce good results, and again you can always ask, and someone will be glad to help, but again I am partial to the tek I mentioned ^.

I've been planning to use the Q21Q21 tek involving d-limonene, as I'll be extracting in my kitchen and would prefer to not deal with the really bad chemicals, so it's nice to see it recommended to newbies. I noticed a thread containing an alteration to it in the forums so it looks like I have more reading to do.
