Hello all,

A new subsection called SPIRITUALITY has been created. To this new subsection I moved the already existing Through the Looking-Glass subforum.

Then there is also a new subforum created: Spirituality & Mysticism

Spirituality & Mysticism

This forum, as Rising Spirit describes it, is "An area of discussion specifically devoted to topics which pertain to the metaphysical, transcendental and Sacred aspects of the psychedelic experience."

I hope that some spiritual oriented people like Rising Spirit, joedirt and Saidin will make a reply to this thread where they will post their vision for this new subsection.

Some important things to keep in mind

It is important that people understand that in this subforum, as a default, there will be no scientific scrutinizing. However, if people appreciate a scientific view on their threads then they can state that in the first post of their thread. That way we can respect the wishes of all people and keep a healthy forum going.

It is also important to understand that the subfora in this new subsection (Both Spirituality & Mysticism and Through the Looking-Glass) are not a free haven to disregard important parts of the Attitude page, with this I mean things like:

  • Making respectful spiritual oriented posts
  • Work on progressive threads
  • Refrain from stating something as an absolute truth
  • No preaching
  • No dogma "Dogma is the established belief or doctrine held by a religion, or a particular group or organization. It is authoritative and not to be disputed, doubted, or diverged from, by the practitioners or believers"

I think with this in mind we will have a very valuable addition to the DMT-Nexus!

Kind regards,

The Traveler

Just one question comes to mind; if, at some point in some thread, science is being inappropriately used to back up something (for example, quantum mechanics is often misused to state highly speculative ideas), is it appropriate to point this out? Whatever your ideas and whatever the truth of the matter is, I think it is wrong to use science in cases it cannot be used, and that it is important to point it out when such is done.

..i would say only if supported with accessible references..to simply claim there is an error as an 'expert', but not directly cite evidence would not be appropriate in this, or any other section..
