What a Christmas gift! BTW merry X-mas. And thanks to those who helped me, (help him) along the way. It was a learning experience.
A brief summary: He had a lb. of MHRB. Did half on the first extract incase he screwed up. No defat or polar wash. Aside from the few speedbumps, ended up with brownish crystals which I'm sure will clean up fine once he can get some ammonia. Smoked a little harsh like that but still good. That would be the center vial if his pic showed up.
The second half lb. he went all out on. Longer simmering/acid soak, ran thru filters, toulene, then naptha defat, a couple polar washes... Time consuming but well worth it. The sparkly white crystals on the right in the pic are the lightly scraped one out of the drying dish. The ones on the left are the razor scraped one which are pretty white also but he wants to clean further.
He never bothered weighing any of the first, but on the second extract the clean finished crystals weighed 1.2 gm, and the off white was .75 which I'm sure will diminish somewhat after cleaning.
In my opinion, the dirty stuff is just as strong. But the smoothness and taste is a night and day difference. I don't have a Mg. scale, but according to my 1 gm balance scale, my average dose I've been loading up and vaporizing is about 40 mgs. (finally weighed one out today). Don't get me wrong, I've been having phenominal trips with fantastic visuals, but isn't 40 mgs. a breakthrough dose usually?
And if my pic isn't on here, that either means I did something wrong, or could'nt figure out how to do it. Then I could use some help on that too. I'm not the most computer literate person around.
