The last time I extracted was ~2 years ago. A bottle of heptane is how much? I fail to see how spending a bit on a good solvent is "expensive" for something that is totally priceless- and this is coming from someone who lives in poverty. I think you would have to be extracting a lot for this to become expensive. Just my take on it!

I would do ~90ml pulls, possibly heated up in a double-boiler style bowl set up, or just use the heat from the NaOH reaction in the extraction vessel, 3 or 4 pulls should get it all. If you aren't happy with your yield after that, you can always reuse the heptane and extract more.

I use Zippo fluid or a cheaper local variant of lighter fluid, I always test evap a small bit of every bottle I buy and make sure the only ingredient is petroleum distillates. some brands add a silicone or a rust preventer of some kind, but most better brands don't.
I've used this in all my extractions, I get a good yield of white to yellowish crystals with the lighter fluid and then pull with xylene to exhaust the MHRB of active alkaloids.
The lighter fluid freeze precip's fine as well, so it is re-usable to make up for the slightly higher price.

lighter fluid basically is vm&p naptha, a slew of aliphatic hydrocarbons.

^ Yeah, looking at the MSDS for Ronson lighter fluid makes me pretty confident that it's perfectly suitable for DMT extraction. I've always used it in the past and ended up with pure snow white crystal, so I can't complain.

Since my local Michael's art supply doesn't carry Bestine, I'm just going to go with the Ronson fluid again, and maybe try and source some xylene or toluene as well to grab the jungle alkaloids.

Unless it's illegal where you live naptha can be found all over. if the hardware store doesn't have it. try a specialty paint store. Not allot of people know but there are stores that specialize in paint in most regions with a decent population. If your rural maybe not. These stores are named after the brand name of their product... hint... If you cant figure it out PM me.
