Introducing someone to psychedelics isn't just as simple as handing over a full pipe or baggie full of goodies and saying "go for it"
It is a very touchy subject that deserves special attention on the part of the introducer.
I've had a lot of internal conflict about introducing people to DMT and other entheogens.
First of all I don't want to be the one to cause undo fear or apprehension by saying "Careful this stuff will knock your socks off, and make you question everything you've ever known."
But I also don't want to be a source of naivety by saying "Just take a toke and see what happens for yourself."
I find it is a fine line between informing someone about the potential effects of the substance and producing some sort of anxiety about their world being blown off the hinges.
Personally I feel that if they are not aware of the power of these things it is reckless not to inform them about how powerful they can be.
I am not saying that I go around introducing DMT to all kinds of people with no background in substance use or people that haven't shown a genuine interest in the compound.
I have only introduced close friends that are experienced in psychedelics and that have asked me to try it.
I just feel that by me being so honest about it and telling them to be prepared for something so intense it might feel like they have died and are witnessing the birth of existence and the obliteration of matter all at once may influence their experience negatively.
But its true!
I may be too worried about it because none of the people I introduce have had a full breakthrough or reported anything negative but I would like to know how the wise beings of the nexus go about it for future reference.
Also I am not just asking about DMT but all entheogens. I would ESPECIALLY like to know how you all would go about introducing, lets say mushrooms to a psychedelic virgin.
I have had experience with mushrooms so I know I can tell them about the breathing walls, patterns...etc.
What I really want to know is how to explain the things like ego death and connection with the universe and what not without creeping someone out.
