Quote:Hours after he was booked into the Marion County Jail following his arrest on possession of precursor chemicals to manufacture DMT and resisting arrest without violence, Dallas Keen made his first appearance in front of a judge Thursday morning.
DMT, or Dimethyltryptamine, is known as Ecstasy, a hallucinogen.
The 22-year-old Ocala man told the judge he was going to hire an attorney. His bond was set at $102,000.
Outside the room at the jail where inmates appear via video link with judicial officials, Keen told a Star-Banner reporter he is “feeling a lot better now,” compared to Wednesday night. He said he was going to “stay away from DMT and get my life back on track.”
“I regret having it,” he said about the products used to make the drug.
Drug agents secured a warrant to search a storage shed owned by Keen late Wednesday night, but they did not found any drugs or products to make DMT.
When Ocala police officers went to 3450 SW 19th Place on Wednesday afternoon, they thought they were going there in hopes of preventing someone from committing suicide.
Instead, officers ended up calling the Marion County Fire Rescue HAZMAT Team, who in turn alerted local drug agents on a discovery that officials said they had never seen before in Ocala or Marion County.
"Although we've dismantled 14 meth labs this year, this is the first time that we've discovered an Ecstasy lab within Ocala/Marion County," said Lt. Donnie Winston of the Marion County Sheriff's Office and head of the High Intensity Drug Enforcement Team (HIDTA).
At the location, agents assigned to the Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Team or MADET and their counterparts from HIDTA said that, while city officers were assessing the scene, a K-9 had alerted on a car.
Officers said they noticed some strange ingredients while searching the car, and they notified other authorities.
Epsom salt, measuring beakers, Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark, scales, drain cleaners, goggles and other items that, when mixed together, produces Dimethyltryptamine, were found inside the vehicle belonging to 22-year-old Dallas Keen, according to officers.
Officers said they also recovered $1,900 in cash from the vehicle, and drug paraphernalia from inside the residence.
According to the Department of Justice website, Dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, came into prominence in the 1930s, and gained popularity in the 1960s as a hallucinogen.
In the U.S., the website states, DMT has no medical use; however, it can be used by researchers with the approval of the federal government.
Keen told the Star-Banner while seated in the back of an Ocala police squad car that he takes DMT once every couple of months and it can be taken orally or you can smoke it. He said his method of choice is to take it orally because he has asthma.
"It breaks down your reality and makes you explore deeper levels of your consciousness," a handcuffed Keen said.
Keen said he purchased DMT but wouldn't say where.
He also said the material used to make DMT, which was confiscated by drug agents, was going to be used by him to make DMT so "I could have a personal stash to give to friends."
While talking with agents, Keen ran but was quickly caught by officials, police said.
Asked why he ran, he said, "I was really scared. I'm just really desperate."
As for his friend, Keen said that when police arrived, the friend had already left the home and went to Gainesville.
Agents charged Keen with possession of precursor materials, resisting without violence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Talking amongst themselves, neighbors said they're not surprised at what was found inside the residence because they've seen scores of people going in and out of the home both day and night. source

I stopped reading after "DMT, or Dimethyltryptamine, is known as Ecstasy, a hallucinogen." This. I literally laughed out loud after that statement and refused to read anymore after that. 1% of reality is within our plane of existence. What we feel... what we see... what we hear... what we "think" we know... The other 99% percent of reality can only be shown to us through DMT. This 99% lies within the "Realm of the Unknowns". We can only experience FULL reality when we leave this vessel, our bodies. DMT gives us a taste of this full reality... the universal knowledge is given to us by the beings who call "hyperspace" their home. When in hyperspace there is no "self" but instead this self is replaced with pure and raw energy. ENERGY CAN NOT BE DESTROYED, ONLY TRANSFERRED OR TRANSFORMED! So when you have that "ego-death" during a breakthrough trip, don't fret, you are not being destroyed but yet..... YOU ARE BEING TRANSFORMED.
I LOVE YOU, RESPECT YOU AND I THANK YOU... Dimethyltryptamine ... for showing me the 99% of reality that I would never have experienced in everyday life.

I wouldn´t be surprised if my neighbour has a druglab in his house as well, since i see people going in and out of his house everytime.

Reading stories like this make me want to break the law and feel more violent than any "drug" ever could. 'Little spider weaves a wispy web, stumblin' through the woods it catches to my head. She crawls behind my ear and whispers secrets. Dragonfly whiz by and sings now teach it.'

This is what happens I guess when you go to school and get one of this things..what do they call them again..a "degree"?.. They call solvents used to extract organic alkaloids from plants "precursers" for those same alkaloids..they claim someone who is extracting said alkaloid is "making" said alkaloid..and they call said alkaloid by the name given to another unrelated alkaloid that has a much broader media appeal. Long live the unwoke.

So, police can now arrest you just for possessing the materials necessary for an extraction. I know that MHRB is in a gray area regarding its legal status, but measuring beakers, scales, drain cleaners, and goggles can warrant an individual's arrest? Come on now.. This person handled this situation poorly, though, and should not have told LE all that information. "'Most men will not swιm before they are able to.' Is not that witty? Naturally, they won't swιm! They are born for the solid earth, not for the water. And naturally they won't think. They are made for life, not for thought. Yes, and he who thinks, what's more, he who makes thought his business, he may go far in it, but he has bartered the solid earth for the water all the same, and one day he will drown."

MHRB is technically illegal...it's not a grey area. Additionally, having extraction equipment and chemicals is quite incriminating and definitely enough to grant probable cause for a search and/or detainment. This isn't new, it's just one aspect of the police state that we live in. Imo, it's better to be realistic (cynical, to some) than idealistic about the state of things if you want to protect yourself. Yes, it is a carrier of DMT (Schedule I substance), but I still consider it grey area since they're not enforcing the law to the degree they normally would. I want to know from which grounds the search warrant was granted. The article mentioned that officers first went to the home to prevent a suicide. Then they contacted local drug agents to investigate the home owner. What did the initial officers see when they went inside the residence that prompted them to notify local drug agents? Unfortunately, the article doesn't go into detail, but if they saw an extraction in process in the kitchen with materials lying around, then I'd understand their suspicion and further action to attain a search warrant. All the more reason to not keep one's materials in plain sight inside one's residence, including beakers and scales. "'Most men will not swιm before they are able to.' Is not that witty? All the more reason to not keep one's materials in plain sight inside one's residence, including beakers and scales. What you, I or anybody else considers it to be is irrelevant, MHRB is illegal, meaning, imo, regardless of how they choose to enforce it you should treat it no differently than any other controlled substance (i.e. don't have it out in the open, take proper precautions when storing/transporting etc.). I'd be willing to bet that no search warrant was necessary at all. The officers would have had legal grounds to be there for the suicide call...beyond that, anything from a bag of MHRB to lye and solvents could have qualified as probable cause for the officers to search the premises. It wouldn't need to be mid-extraction and honestly, the officer(s) could have seen some psychedelic art and decided that the house "smelled like narcotics" and therefore needed the drug squad to come check it out. Shortcuts and violations like the hypotheticals I just presented are not only commonplace, but are almost impossible to fight without a halfway decent attorney and some $$$$. This is why, imo, there are very few situations in which it's worth calling the police; they're here to protect the system, not you. Does anyone know what happens in these cases where someone is initially charged with possession of the weight of MHRB as the weight of dmt? (Having a kg of MRHB and getting charged with 1 kg of dmt) If people are actually charged like that, it seems like it would be better to extract all of the dmt at once no?

Again folks...I say this AGAIN: If you ever get arrested (for anything--but especially for a non-crime like having "precursors" for drug manufacture) please have the good sense to KEEP YOUR F******* MOUTH SHUT, and say to the police only that you WISH TO SEE A LAWYER. It is absolutely, positively, NEVER.... N E V E R ...to your advantage to say ANYTHING to police, and it is essentially ALWAYS to your disadvantage.
If you keep your mouth shut, and you have a decent lawyer, your odds of getting off (or getting only probation) are probably better than 90%.

Probable cause is not needed if they are in the house for a legally justifiable reason and suspicious objects are in PLAIN VIEW. At that point they can confiscate the items and make an arrest...and then, of course, if they want to, they can easily get a search warrant for FURTHER search of the house--for things that are NOT in plain view. I'm not sure that drain cleaner and solvents qualify as "suspicious materials," however--although they might in the presence of lab glassware...

Heard that even kids can buy DMT on the streets in the us and that they use it without any respect to the spiritual aspect but just to get high. i dont know this guy, but if he was indeed selling dmt he might belong behind bars, for a lil while blessed be all forms of intelligence

Even someone who is genuinely completely innocent can easily incriminate themselves by talking to the police, something I found out the hard way and could have been very bad for me if it wasnt for other factors which saved me. There is a video of a lawyer giving a lecture to law students on exactly why people should *never* talk to the police. I cant link it with my phone but a youtube search for 'never talk to police' should bring it up. -Я Ξ √ Ω L U T ↑ Ø N-

I'm not sure I know the exact charges but my friend did get pulled over and caught with DMT making equipment. The DMT was also in the process of being made. The cops charged with with having a mobile meth lab before they further inspected it. He said that the cops were really confused because they had never found anything like it. He did end up going to jail, but they soon found it wasn't a meth lab and he ended up getting out after two days. The Unknown = A Place to Learn
