Hey Folks,With The Traveler's blessings and encouragement, I am formatting a simple poll for the name of the new spiritual subforum, as the Spirituality & Philosophy subforum has been divided, as they well should be. Yes? So, I uploaded some random suggestions BUT... welcome both, participation in the poll and additional comments or respectful replies. What does everyone think? There is no self to which I cling, for I am one with everything.

Once upon a time I thought of naming a sister board: Seekers of the Light. Might make a good subforum title. Peace If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.

Nice. A great name for a musical group, book title or spiritual subforum (but of course). There is no self to which I cling, for I am one with everything.

Love Divine Wine Cellar... maybe not as the subforum name, but as an album title or an underground club. Thirteenth Floor Elevators were a trippy psych band already... And as for Mahavishnu Orchestra, anything they did was mind bogglingly dope. All their album names could work to some degree. I mean, Inner Mounting Flame? Heheheh... I think it will be a good idea to make a deadline for the new name. That way we can implement it soon. What about this coming Saturday (24th Dec. 2011) as the deadline? Kind regards, The Traveler p.s. the same will deadline will be for the name of the OLD spiritual subforum poll.

I voted Spiritual & Mystical. Though I believe it should be named Spirituality and Mysticism, just seems more grammatically correct. Ya dig? I can think of nothing more important for the survival of our species and those we live with then for us all to have access to the psychedelic experience.

Holy mother of god the Hippies are going crazy in here! I'd have to agree with jamie though, Joedirts suggestion is good, although quite selective no? I don't specifically seek one thing, I want to find both the light and the dark Make some good of it Joedirt, the community wants YOU! Mad, bad and dangerous to know.

..i quite like joedirt's Seekers of the Light (reminds me of PrimalWisdom's "hello all researchers of the light.." ) i also don't mind anything referring to 'spirit', as defining what this word means gets straight into the discussion.. .

I don't specifically seek one thing, I want to find both the light and the dark Make some good of it Joedirt, the community wants YOU! Wow, I wouldn't have thought to add such an overt salutation to The Light, as such a spiritual directive may not expressly jive with the broad spectrum and status quo of humanity's religious/spiritual conceptual structures. that being said, many of us do indeed seek The Light. One ecstatic, euphoric taste and you are totally hooked! Evisceratechuck may have a significant point here, given that some of our members follow schools of metaphysical thought which prefer to focus directly upon the Insubstantial Void. The emptiness which underlies all of which is formed by that force which initiates quantum fluctuation. I'm thinking the Zen/Tao folks and 5-MeO-DMT crowd. I am honestly without any fixed or ultimate preference, however... as a decided white light junkie, it sounds pretty sweet to my ears! It does strongly point to that clear line of intent, which so dissolves our sentient perception and consciously interlocks us into the Godhead. Such an illumination we perceive in our third eye (pineal gland) and consciously merge within the center of the moment... the Here & Now. So much so, that we exponentially dissolve within this all-knowing luminosity, as our crown opens and blossoms into the radiance of the Grid (the Vedantic idea of the 1,000 petaled lotus). Or in 21st century jargon, that shimmering, crystalline chrysanthemum of fractal, cosmic current patterning. Thus, burning the message of unity and oneness, throughout the expanse of this magnificent multiverse... that blinding Spirit which so animates each of our immersions into the high, pure radiance of The One. It's really more than I would nay have thought acceptable to the general consensus, here at the Nexus. But it is quite beautiful and most poetic. I'd actually go one step further... and nominate joedirt to the positin of Modrator of this new spiritual subforum. I can think of no one more balanced, inspired and simultaneously grounded in the methodical clarity of the scineces. Besides, he's a wonderful human being, possessing equally rational & intuitive strengths. He's got my vote, how about the rest of the family? Happy Solstice One and All! There is no self to which I cling, for I am one with everything.

I find the dark equally interesting, if not more so since it's most probably the result of our brains fabricating our own darkness into a real size hell of which you are the host of, regardless of your feelings about it If you appoint a date with God, don't think Satan won't be jealous Mad, bad and dangerous to know.

Two things (actually just one I think) that makes me a bit concerned about this name are the following: LIGHTDMT is also mentioned as "the bringer of light". So it might be that this looks too much like a cult around DMT. TOO RELIGIOUS?And that brings me to the name again and that it might be sounding a bit too religious? These are just thoughts of me, the name is still possible but I just wanted to share my opinion on it. Kind regards, The Traveler

TOO RELIGIOUS?

Now that you mention it, it DOES sound a bit scientology, lol. Being an avid matrix fan I'd suggest "Stories of a red pill", however I'm quite the scientific hippie on this kind of stuff Mad, bad and dangerous to know.

What about this coming Saturday (24th Dec. 2011) as the deadline?
Kind regards,
The Traveler
p.s. the same will deadline will be for the name of the OLD spiritual subforum poll. That's probably a wise point to tally-up the votes. And a lovely Christmas gift to our more spiritually-inclined members! I had originally set this poll for 7 days BUT it is clear that we already have landslide winners for both polls. DMTerrestrial raises a good point, that being, whether is should read as Spiritual & Mystical or Spirituality & Mysticism. I am totally impartial. Any thoughts from the rest of those involved with this naming game? I personally feel it should be The Traveler's call, as illustrious host to this website. In regards to brother joedirt's inspired suggestion... I would also tip my hat to Trav and honor his concerns above all others. I am quite pleased to see that others feel he is eminently qualified to be Moderator of this new category. Of course, it's joedirt's choice to be considered for the position or not. I hope he isn't irritated by my enthusiastic nomination. Are you brother? I did leap before I looked (talked it over with him, first). Be that as it may, we have 2 days left for additional votes to be cast and if one is in favor of Seekers Of The Light, vote for the #5 choice (the second listing of The Sacred). Honestly, I had a very bad head cold when I drew up the poll and apparently listed this one twice. Or was I unconsciously placing it in the poll twice because it was my favorite choice? Either way... my bad. So, any votes cast for #5 will be understood as votes for Seekers Of The Light. It looks like we have at least 3 votes for this title? Just be aware that The Traveler has the right to veto any name that seems too extreme from his perspective. OK? It's all good, though. There is no self to which I cling, for I am one with everything.

Spirituality & Mysticism has more flow. But I am not overly concerned what we call it tbh. Glad that it is going up though. "Curiouser and curiouser..." ~ Alice

Personally I don't really care what it's called either. Just having a place to meet up with other like minded folks is all I'm really interested in. RisingSpirit wrote:Of course, it's joedirt's choice to be considered for the position or not. I hope he isn't irritated by my enthusiastic nomination. Are you brother? I did leap before I looked (talked it over with him, first). I very much appreciate your nomination. However, I'd like to humbly decline. I have way to much on my plate in life right now to give enough time to be an effective moderator. Also I find that a good moderator is a good moderator and it should not really depend upon the forum. A moderators job (as moderator) is to observe the conversation flow and make sure it doesn't go into area not allowed by the rules. Honestly I think all the current moderators do a great job. Lastly...if there was going to be someone appointed to moderator of this board...I'd like to suggest that the obvious choice should not be me, but you Rising Spirit. namaste If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.
