swim was digging thru his cactus cupboard - the amount he imagined he saw was about 13.5kg's fresh potent torch
at the very bottom of the pile there were 2 pieces about 2kg's each that were a bit funny.
they looked a bit off - swim skinned them, cored them and put the flesh in the freezer - the color was not right - green but yellowy and offish, it smelled a bit of off banana's and pawpaw and was not entirely firm.

swim has plenty of other fresh good cactus but doenst like just throwing stuff away. What should swim do - will the alkaloids have been degraded or increased with the slight decomposition - chuck it out ?

swim was thinking that it may still be good to get some extraction experience(as swim has no experience with cactus extraction) with but there is no way he is going to cook it down to a tea as he thinks it may be a bit stinky to do that - if the consensus is to not chuck it out how would swim proceed to get the alkaloids into a solution so the solids can be disposed of ? and what would the best way foreward be ? swim loves fasa but has heard its not the best for this purpose.

Mescaline will not degrade for at least 5000 years in a cool, dry enviroment.

(Theres a reason I said 5000 years, ask me why and I'll tell you)

I'd say just dry your chips out and then brew or eat them.

While it may have degraded some compounds the mescaline will be totally fine, just eat it or do an extraction.

(I can't help you with the extraction part of it, tho)

yeah usually swim brews up a nice tea then makes jelly from it but this is just a bit on the stinky side - swim put it in the freezer caus he always does to burst the cells while making tea for jelly, swims jelly always works out well - i know if u stress or age a cutting it increases potency just wondering if at this stage, anything has been destroyed. Swim can not dry it as there is a lot to dry and swim has nowhere to dry it outside and doesnt want to use the oven. swim was thinking perhaps if he bends it then soaks it in an acidic or basic solution if that would be enough to get all the majic out so the flesh can be discarded -

Some people actually use fermented peyote... and its said to be stronger than regular peyote, so it would seem the production of psychoactive compounds continues well after the cactus has died.

Use a grid or wire-like mesh screen, place the fresh cacti strips onto the grid or wire mesh screen, and set a fan blowing on the cacti chips, they will dry perfectly, normally in under 12 hours.

They found peyote buttons in a cave, they were 6000 years old and still had active mescaline in them. PM me for more detials.
