Hello to the LSD crowd here, this is my first post in this section. Last week I had the distinct pleasure in dropping my first hit of LSD. Though it was a wonderful experience the "trip" was not really much to write home about. The effects it's had on my health since the experience however is a bit puzzling to me and I am looking here to see if anybody has anything they can add on the subject.

It was about 4:30pm when myself and a good friend took our hits of acid. It was my first time and her third time tripping with Lucy. I had a slight head ache when we started our trip but nothing major or bad enough to effect my head space. After about a half hour we were feeling very very euphoric and giggly. It was quite pleasant for both of us. I could feel a very strong grounding to the earths energy and I was prepared to take in everything Lucy was willing to teach. My friend and I both had a slice of pizza shortly before taking the hit. I got onto the chat to see what was going down that evening with everyone, and I was excited to tell all about my happy endeavors. I didn't stick around chat very long though as it was beginning to hit me quite hard at this point.

After about 2 hours I started to get some gas pains. I simply shrugged it off as being from the pizza since I have IBS and am lactose intolerant. This was very similar for me to the gas one sometimes gets when on a shroom trip. Lengthy periods of time spent on the porcelain bowl of Hell.. Honestly was the worst gas attack I've ever had bar none. My friend had the exact same thing happen so after that I was convinced it was the pizza. We had hung out all day and had eaten the same things all day. Other than the gas it was a very enjoyable time. I had slight distortion of vision and very faint cev's for about 8 hours untill we both decided to lye down and try to sleep.

The next two or three hours were spent in bed tossing and turning to the tryptamine shuffle while trying to sleep. It was a constant video of a pink elephant jumping out of a window in a hotel in the jungle. With forms endlessly reforming and mixing to make new patterns and pictures, yet the elephant and hotel were always there. I've left out a few details and parts of the trip that I will add later when I get home.

The next day we woke up refreshed on life and ready to take on life's adventures. I had a humble new view on society and the people in it. I always tend to find myself judging people as I come across them. Along the lines of saying to myself "stupid junky".. Or "bum". I know it's bad that I think those things and it pisses me off that I think them. Since the trip I find myself doing this a lot less. The real interesting effect Lucy has had on me is my IBS(irritable bowel syndrome) and lactose intolerancy. They are gone.. I don't honestly know what to make of it. Since my experience all of the symptoms of the two conditions I had are gone. I know this may offend people but I don't honestly care since I'm saying this for the good of science and health. I have not had so much as a girgle, rumble, cramp or fart since that day. 2L of milk later and lots cheese and chicken in my diet, all things that usually effect my digestive tract in horrible ways have not had a single negative effect on me. So my question is, have any of you out there with either of these digestive issues had any similar effects to mine? I know it's obviously not permanent but if it lasts a long period of time I can see myself partaking in LSD a few times a year to keep the symptoms from returning. Thanks all for your time and interest in reading this post.

hmm could be the LSD..or could be you never had LSD..or you had LSD cut with some crap.

I have heard from many people about how draining LSD is on the body and mind. I remember being very tired after my first LSD experience..while it was a very clean and clear and powerful experience..it felt abrasive in a way that DMT and psilocin is not. I never got super into LSD and have not taken it in years..might never take it again in my life..some people love it though. For me I have no need to use LSD.

LSD is also more vaso-constrictive I think that DMT and psilocin, and headaches after LSD are normal from what I have heard from others..Kathlene Harrison talked about this once in a talk, how she always has a headache after LSD so she takes a tylenol or something when she is comming down and has some good cannabis to smoke.

Yes also to the digestive things..I had IBD and I am lactose intolerant. I have not had lactose in a long time now and I dont eat any meat or grains at all either...that helps ALOT trust me. Ingesting any psychedelic is even worse for me if I am eating these foods..Long periods of time living on fresh fruits and veggies and pure water and nothing else really helped me with my digestive disease and these medicines dont bother me so much anymore in the same way they used to. I did nto eat mushrooms in about a year becasue of this, I just smoked DMT because I did not have to ingest anything then..in reality ayahuasca helped soo much and ingesting it and purging was definatily necessary.
Long live the unwoke.

I take LSD almost weekly for a variety of effects it has on my body and mind. It boosts the immune system among many other things. I wish I could properly articulate what it does for me, but it is a profound substance. It's high medicinal for me. As much as it is fun and all that too- can't deny how damn good it makes you feel though.

@ Jamie, I thought maybe it was bunk or cut with something shitty, but my friend who introduced me to it is reputable among my friends for having pure untainted high quality LSD. I can relate with the abrasiveness of it. It was not near as gentle or comforting as my favorite teacher the mighty mushroom. But at the same time I was stricken with incredible eurphoria and joy basically the whole time exept for some parts of the trip spent in the bathroom.

@ House, thanks for that tid bit of info, I feel there are great breakthroughs possible with this substance in the medical field.

I could only hope for something like this, I have some really painful digestive issues I can't quite figure out.
If LSD could cure them... damn sign me up!

I remember you saying a while back though that LSD kept making your nerve pain worse when you took it so had to combine it with a vasodialator like caapi or cannabis?..I found lysergics in general constrictive so I can see how they can cause some discomfort.

I also used to know an older woman who started to take LSD once a week for some kind of pain she had..I think it was some type of nerve disorder and she said it was the only thing she found that really helped.

LSD definitely has/had some positive effects on my health, if only on a mental level. It's been the easiest experience to reintegrate after serious self-analysis.

I also use it recreationally. It lasts quite long and I can, in the space of one trip, do some housekeeping of the mind and also just have a laugh and a dance...

I know of a few people who use low dose LSD to quell the onset of a migraine. It is one of the few things that actually works for them, and is amazingly useful in battling their cluster headaches. I can also vouch for the housecleaning effects of the mind. Good to help clear out the cobwebs and re-invigorate the lust for life and excitement. I will agree that it can make me tired the next day, but the experience is always worth the minor tiredness I deal with then. Also, I haven't had trouble with quality acid and vasoconstriction, but perhaps I am just less sensitive to those effects. I know that LSA does cause this much more so than any quality LSD, but I am not sure about the quality of the LSD everyone else experiences.

I am Lactose Intolerant as well and if I eat something with dairy and take LSD the same day I would be in some major trouble like the OP described. Sadly however I have never been instantly cured by LSD, or any other substance. I would be very interested to hear if this is permanent fix and if the op gets the same reactions upon more taking more doses.

I have different nerves that are damaged. The ones in my jaw/throat that make it difficult for me to swallow sometimes and make my voice sound a bit weird feel temporarily treated when I am on LSD. It's a profound effect that nothing else seems to touch. My eustachian tubes are permanently closed because of ear infections in my youth causing me intense pain and vertigo all the time and when I am on LSD this temporarily goes away for around three days. Sometimes a week or longer. Can't even tell you how grateful I am for this effect. These are a couple of the main reasons I use it. (Not to mention how fun and euphoric it is!)

I damaged my sciatic nerve last year and during the first few months I couldn't take LSD because the vasoconstriction would cause my leg to go numb because of how bad the nerve was flared up. I got over that though, especially with the help of Iboga, and still take LSD at least once a week for it's various positive effects it has on my body and mind. I hope that cleared up your misunderstanding. Iboga and LSD are a couple of the most medicinal substances I have ever used. I love them to death! LSD really makes me feel better in so many ways. I'd like to try the inactive Bromo-LSD someday to see if it can help, even without being psychoactive. <3

I hope to dose again in the coming weeks sometime. My symptoms have not yet returned and it's been almost 2 weeks now since the experience.. Pretty damn cool if you ask me. I've eaten a ton of dairy since, including loads of cheese, 3-4 liters of milk or so and sour creme on some natchos. I also haven't had any acid reflux or heartburn since.

I'm a big fan of acid, it was the first psychedelic I've tried and it had a deeply transformative effect on me. I'm not lactose intolerant, yet I have irritable bowel syndrome and I'v always been highly sensitive. From LSD, I almost always have a diarrhea, combined with stomach cramps, that go away in the first 2-3 hours of the trip. I noticed these effects even if I take really low doses, just for an energy boost. But nothing more serious. I found a big relief from becoming vegetarian a few years ago. Take care of yourself, that's the most important! And enjoy your acid trips Wink

There's this, and then there's a plethora of biological functions including boosting the immune system of the user.

I don't know, mushrooms feel pretty abrasive to me. I consider lsd and mushrooms to maybe be the most so. Although I can picture the headache being more common after an lsd trip. but I have heard about lsd and related compounds being amazing for curing headaches. Is it only certain kinds of headaches? I've head cluster headaches mentioned specifically.

After eating several pounds of cubensis in the last few years I have built up an immunity to mushroom gut rot. They no longer do abrasive things to my body(just my mind..lol). LSD did make my headache I had at the start of the trip disappear.

Now that you mention it, prior to my first (which became several more) LSD experience, I had quite bad bowels in the sense of, I'd fart an awful lot, nothing smelly, I just was always gassy, didn't give it much thought as to wether I thank the LSD, or how I've changed my eating habits and all around body maintenance since I started finding my inner-self.

Not outside of the realm of possibility for sure, it has amazing effects on your state of mind, your state of mind has amazing effects on your body, and the way you interact with the world around you.
Eat replenishing foods, travel with Lucy as you see fit, I'm sure you'll continue to be fine Smile

*Update*

The issues with my guts came back about a week ago. I'd say it was a solid two months of no issues. Whether or not it was from the LSD is as much as a guess really. I will however be dropping some more LSD in a few weeks and will hopefully have the same outcome.
