Ok so I just read an article that said senate voted on a bill that suspends Habeus Corpus and now US citizens can be jailed without trial. This is really freaking me out. The article is short but has links to the bill (all 900 pages) that was amended and all the details pertaining to it. Has anyone read any other articles about this or heard about it? I would like to see another article to clarify and make sure this is the real deal, but it seems pretty legitimate. Here the link: http://wearechangetv.us/...s-corpus/#axzz1fJhGXnnF. Anyway I really hope someone can find something out there that proves this wrong but I really doubt it (unfortunately). Let me know what you think...this makes me want to get out of the US soon... What are we but stupefied dancers to a discordant stystem, we believe - so we're mislead we assume - so we're played we confide - so we're deceived we trust - so we're betrayed

I heard the same thing and I believe I've heard Ron Paul talking about it.. There is a video out, but it might be a conspiracy video tho. I think they did it for "terrorism.?" so they could arrest someone without having a public reasoning. We Came, We Saw, We Conquered. Now pass the Salsa. Thought habeas corpus had been neglected for years. Now they're just making it official on paper, I guess. "'Most men will not swιm before they are able to.' Is not that witty? Naturally, they won't swιm! They are born for the solid earth, not for the water. And naturally they won't think. They are made for life, not for thought. Yes, and he who thinks, what's more, he who makes thought his business, he may go far in it, but he has bartered the solid earth for the water all the same, and one day he will drown."

No, we did not just get officially fucked over. In the US for a bill to become a law it must be passed in both houses of congress and signed by the president. This was passed only in the senate.

I made a post about this the other day here: https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=27521Basically this bill turns the US military on the American people. It eliminates the judicial process and allows the military to disappear anyone they like around the world (including US citizens on US soil) to detention camps without any kind of trial or exercising of those pesky constitutional rights. There is talk of the White House vetoing this bill if (when) it passes through the senate, I guess we'll see. My magic 8-ball says "outlook not so good" on this one

Yeah Habeus Corpus has been neglected along with all of our other "rights" if there is such a thing anymore but I'm pretty sure American citizens still had right to a "fair" trial before this bill was passed. I know it was suspended for all non-US citizens during the Bush administration so that they could put "terrorists" in jail without having to really look at evidence which was part of the whole Guantanamo controversy. This bill however I am pretty sure is specifically directed at US citizens so just in case we are dealing with terrorists or bad characters they can lock us up and not have to worry about it, like they do with everything and everyone else. I'm not sure of the full details of it so if some of this is incorrect feel free to call me out. I know there is a lot of BS out there and I would rather not contribute to it. Either way it feels like the US Gov't is caring less and less about upholding the image that it is a "Free Nation" and is more concerned with upholding whatever power it can hold onto. It might be time soon to kick in the township rebellion. I just read the article you posted dreamer042. This is some serious 1984 shit.. I mean I knew that the bill would suspend habeus corpus but I didn't know about declaring the US a battlefield and having the military put troublemakers in detention camps. I really would rather not go up against the US military under any circumstances. I'm definitely signing that petition. I really hope people get really angry about this because I would rather not see complacency win this one. if this bill becomes law then Yukon Ho my friends. Definitely gonna have Rage Against The Machine on my Ipod at the ready when shit goes south What are we but stupefied dancers to a discordant stystem, we believe - so we're mislead we assume - so we're played we confide - so we're deceived we trust - so we're betrayed

Quote:Still though, pretty f-ed up that it's even being proposed. Like, W-T-F? Yes, the state of the government is terrible. I stopped being shocked about the neoconservative agenda sometime back when the "Patriot" act was passed though. Luckily our government is based on a system of checks and balances which tends to keep the super crazy stuff from becoming law (for the most part) Quote:HA HA HA are you serious ? Obama is one big f. liar do not believe anything that come out of his mouth Thank you for you logical and well thought out argument. You know the person who proposed this bill was John Mccain right? The same guy who would be president if Obama wasn't? Food for thought.

Seriously. Isn't being a liar the job description for being President? But that's what happens you have to spend 1.5 billion dollars of corporate interest dollars to even campaign for president, let alone all the scumf*cks you have to please while your in the position. I honestly feel bad for the guy, he has the worst job in america and he got it by compromising his principles that it appeared that he believed in. It looks like hes up shit creek without a paddle. If he vetoes this bill he will have my respect. You are definitely right about Obama being better than McCain actualfactual, but the system and the presidential position is in dire need of a re-visioning What are we but stupefied dancers to a discordant stystem, we believe - so we're mislead we assume - so we're played we confide - so we're deceived we trust - so we're betrayed

OWS ruffled feathers they are going to make sure it doesnt happen again. Could took down the whole system still very well might. These people have no intention of giving up power. NYPD has been caught farming occupiers identities a dozen times invisible ink has been found on those arrested and obama is having 20,000 troops trained right now specifically for civil disobedience. Wake up this is it folks revolution is at your door whether you like it or not. To suppress the few they will have to suppress everyone. This is one war where you cannot remain neutral. This is the next phase in human evolution. Technology gives power back to the masses. Secondarily you can see that money and wealth is getting lower on the list of priorities in peoples lives. It's harder to be a success so more and more are choosing to be unsuccessful and live ordinary lives. Religion is on the decline everywhere causing the dynamic of mentality as to ones role in life to change dramatically. All this in the last few years. The economic depression was just the match to the tinder. People simply are beginning to refuse to play the game anymore. Decentralization or decentralisation is the process of dispersing decision-making governance closer to the people and/or citizens. It includes the dispersal of administration or governance in sectors or areas like engineering, management science, political science, political economy, sociology and economics. Decentralization is also possible in the dispersal of population and employment. Law, science and technological advancements lead to highly decentralized human endeavours. If you don't sin, Jesus died for nothing.
