An interesting happened to me today. I was sitting at the dinner table with my little brother who is 9 and he started pushing his hands up against his closed eyes. When my mother asked him what he was doing he answered promptly "I'm having visions". When we asked visions of what he said " I see a long black hole with lightning coming out of it" and then a second later "Now there's a huge ball of fire". Being a nerd who likes to jump to conclusions I automatically thought of psychedelics but he obviously being 9 was not on any psychedelics and to the best of my knowledge was completely sober. This reminded me of how I used to see things of similar sorts as a child with my eyes closed. I remember seeing "lightning" and things of the sort but the most vivid CCEV(Child Closed Eye Visual, creative right?) I remember seeing was a gigantic snake slithering off in "the blackness" of my closed eyes. The snake slithered closer and when it was upon me it opened its mouth and I fell into its mouth. After being eaten by this snake I was in a sort of hyperspace tunnel that was the snakes insides and I could see its ribs. This "vision" was very fleeting and though I was a child I remember it as if it were yesterday and I remember having a lot of these CCEVs like this when I was young. I was just wondering if anyone remembers seeing anything like this as a child and if any of you have any theories about it or if any studies have been done on this. Maybe its just that kids have really good imaginations? I don't know maybe you do?

Lol i totally did that when i was younger.

I have a younger brother and sister, and one day i saw both of them on youtube watching that video you watch for like a couple mins, and you look away and everything looks like it is moving similar to a trip. they are 12 and 10, its just funny to me and it makes me think they will definitely be growing up using some sort of psychedelic, whether anyone thinks it or not, some stay away from it, but most end up in a crowd where its going around, and pure pressure always wins.

I remember doing this all the time and seeing lightning and checkerboard patterns a lot.
I was very interested in it and used to make things up to explain it. I remember once telling my sister I could see the future when I closed my eyes and pushed on them Smile

I remember noticing as I grew older how I was not seeing the "colors and moving shapes" as vividly as when I was a young child. I used to be able to even control the CEV's by focusing on them which would lead to the pre-OBE vibrations/ wake induced lucid dreams (WILD's) if I did it long enough.

I'm 23 and I still do this. Very happy I push on my eyes sometimes during mushroom trips to really bring out the CEVs. It has something to do with applying pressure to the rods and cones in your retina. They can't tell the difference between light and physical stimulation and you see these Phosphenes, wihch are also responsible for CEVs on psychedelics. But your brother and anyone else doing this should be careful not to overdo it, as it can cause permanent damage.

Here is a nice little article I found if you would like to read more.

As a child in daycare I would get all the kids to lay their heads down on their arms or press their hands to their eyes and we would all basically report traveling through tubes of neon light coming to intersections with about 6 different ways to go. Left, right, forward, down, and up. I guess that's 5, as I never went backwards, nor did any kids ever talk about doing that either. I would just do it and automatically I was traveling and it would make decisions for me which way to go and my vision would tilt because there was no gravity in there. I can still do this at times but it's nowhere near as vivid as it was when I was younger.

I was also terrified of the aliens that were watching me. I could feel them. At night I felt them touching me. Touching my shoulders, and my feet. I didn't know why they would be interested. I realized there were billions of other people. I would wake up in sleep paralysis and they were there again. I spent years terrified of them as everybody told me they weren't real but I felt them. I wisened up after a while and just told myself it was all fake after having years of weird experiences. I was just a kid, I thought. These things happen to everyone. I made it all up in my head.

Then I did DMT and was confronted by the you-know-whats so now I don't know what to believe I just know this reality is freaky and weird.

Excuse me while I disconnect the tubewindow attached to my solar plexus, I have wormholes to weave.

very curious you mention this, I've been discussing this with my wife lately...
she reported seeing anomalies (primarily 'spirits'Pleased. I don't recall seeing them so much, but can
see the possibility. On a psychedelic such as LSD, it's been said that the 'filters' one develops growing up, are dissolved; and the user reverts to a sort of child-like state.

and why do people refer to this "seeing the light"? it seems it would make more sense if the portal to another dimension was black.

anyway...I used to be skeptical of such things, but over the past few years (around the time I vaped DMT), i've sensed otherwise imperceivable forms of energy. could I have dissoved some of these filters to some extent?
I don't know what these anomalies are, other than a form of energy not like
living entities...perhaps transformed.

I think kids are just naturally more right brained, and once they learn math, language, and all these other left brained things we sort of loose that a bit, and it gets suppressed. This is why theres so many cases of people have damage to their left hemisphere- or having it completely removed via surgery- and suddenly they can draw like Picasso or have a perfect memory..there is many cases of this. check it ..and heres a recent one i found the other day http://www.odditycentral...w-paints-like-a-pro.html

In a sense it seems we're born inquisitive and creative creatures bent on exploring and experiencing the big mystery of existence directly first hand.. but then once society imprints these mental filters programmed into us that slot incoming information in the socially accepted way we loose sight of this as we more and more overlay our labels over the mystery and are duped into believing these illusory symbols are the real 'reality'. To paraphrase uncle bob, the education system for example isn't involved in creating versatile, open minded, creative, and intelligent human beings..its involved in crating specialized humans aligned with social values who can be another cog in the machine

I used to have odd visions while in a state of ego-death while laying in bed thinking as a kid, i have no idea how many times it happened but i knew i couldn't ever tell anyone about it. Eventually i put it in the back of my mind and forgot about it for years as it isn't exactly a thing our culture finds acceptable- event though it happens to countless people..

Now that i have more experience, i realize it was somewhat similar to lsd and harmalas. This thing would seamlessly morph into countless faces, all with very intense emotionally charged expressions. What weirded me out and overjoyed me simultaneously was that i would start to get a sort of weird euphoric feeling while laying there, then mentally coax this thing out of the blackness until it was right in my face while i entered a state of ego-death. I felt like i became each person i saw and i would laugh and cry along with them in that maniacal way that many of us who have tripped can probably relate to Laughing

I used to have a friend/spirit/alien/who knows what come and visit me at night for years when I was really young. He had a green luminescent glow or aura around his body, and had a humanoid shape..about the size of an adult human..I remember him never speaking but we could communicate somehow anyway..he would come late at night and we would fly out my window and go off somewhere for the night but I have no idea where.

I have a strange recollection from around the age of three almost four, where I was laying in my mothers bed and there was a he-man action figure and a couple others on the dresser that began moving. It was sucha bizarre experience I don't know if I was dreaming or awake, but it felt very very real.

As a child, i believed i could see atoms. I also believed that, because of the infinite nature of space, there should be planets that are an exact replica of this world...and because of that, with an exact replica of me on it. I felt that because of that, some other 'me' would have also come to this conclusion and that therefore i could communicate telepathically with that other me, on the other side of the universe.

It was basically my escape-world. Whenever i didn't like something about this world, i just imagined that on this other earth, everything would be much better.

Hmmmm very interesting Jamie. I was more referring to visuals as a child but I have heard of a lot of stories of people having there own elf/fairy/alien/guardian angels as children and it seems to be specific to children. It could do as said before with the fact that children's imaginations are much more in tune at that age but the more and more I hear about these sort of things the more I wonder if it can just be attributed to imagination. I think that maybe since children are younger and closer to there births in time than say a teenager or an adult that maybe it puts them closer to " the source" from which consciousness and being come from. It could be that perhaps instead of the young imagination creating these beings or visuals it could be that these realms that a child might be more attuned to could help develop our imagination as a child but is later beaten out of our heads with materialism and empiricism.

not sure. I was a bit apprehensive at first, and never got around
to taking the plunge; and now I have to get the ok from the mrs, she hates seeing me

I dont remeber having visions in that way, but every time I had a high fever, I went to this trippy place that has the exact same feeling as a room I often go to when I smoke..

I've often wondered if there is a 'type' who are drawn to these substances. If experiences as a child can lead one to go searching for these types of experiences.

I used to (and still do) have incredibly vivid dreams, some sleep paralysis, and all kinds of visual and auditory hallucinations while awake. One that was very common (that I enjoyed) was the sound of my own heartbeat in my ears while I lay in bed at night. I would concentrate on it until it was extremely loud, and it would sound a bit like boots crunching in the snow. Then I would envision Santa with his big black boots, walking through the snow, carrying presents Very happy

I remember when I first got my Nintendo as a child, I played it for hours. Then when I went to bed, my door was open and there was some light in the hallway. I had crazy detailed hallucinations of some of the characters bouncing down my hallway towards me. Freaked me right out Very happy It was these guys:

Back to the dreams, I used to have really frightening dreams that were often premonitions. Really scared me sometimes, and I would wonder if I was somehow creating the future while asleep at night Laughing
