Hello fellow Nexians,

I have a simple question I'm hoping someone can answer, I just want to put my mind at ease.

The thing is I've been wanting to try DMT for quite some time now, but since I live with other people an extraction has never quite been possible. However, I will be travelling to the USA for some months come 2012, alone.

What I would like to know is whether I'll find any problems in acquiring NaOh and Naphtha in Baltimore, MD. Ideally, I would avoid internet purchases.

Now I know that the forum is full of people from the US talking about extractions, so the obvious answer should be "yes". But as I said, I'm just trying to put my mind at ease - I don't want to get there full of hope and then find that some item or other is impossible to acquire without a license or something!

It's harder or riskier in some states than others to purchase NaOH in, but not sure about Maryland in specific. What I would recommend is that you follow Q21Q21's Vinegar/Lime A/B Extraction Tek which uses calcium hydroxide instead of sodium hydroxide. Because of this, the tek is both significantly safer and easier, because when you have to separate the naptha out from the calcium hydroxide, it's relatively simple because you'll be working with the liquid naptha amongst the much more solid mix as opposed to trying to separate the naptha from soup (which is what you would get working with sodium hydroxide). Naptha seems relatively abundant in my state, and I would assume it is in a populated state like Maryland. I use the yellow ronsonol lighter fluid bottles that I can get at either gas stations, cigar shops, corner stores, pharmacies.....

-Don't buy these items at the same time and have a quick reason why you need them. Naphtha for some oil painting your working on and NaOH to unclog a shower since you've tried everything else.
-Pay with cash so there's no need to show your ID (why would a traveler need these items in the states).

Also, keep in mind the US does not look to kindly on international travelers coming to the states to perform Schedule I extractions. NO NOT GET CAUGHT or you will face a certain jail time and probably never be allowed back in.

Yes, I would imagine, as would any other country. I have to admit I probably didn't think it through - I mean I have, but while the risk of getting caught is in all likelihood miniscule, it is probably not worth the risk. I'd rather rent a flat here and do it during a weekend.
