I understand there is anxiety over ordering chemicals over the internet because it could be a government set up.

The government feels awkward when private citizens order chemicals/supplies like formadehyde, chloroform, DCM, NaOH, acetone, HDPE, evaporation dishes, pipettes, etc etc. all at one time.

If there was a website that could sell all of these things EXCEPT FOR DMT CONTAINING PRODUCTS, and was run by an individual who kept all information confidential and private, and shipped everything the same way, would this be a good thing for the community? Would people use it?

What concerns would there be about this?

I can see some one being paranoid thinking that it was just a government sting to collect addresses. To counter this, all one would have to do is not admit that they have ever ordered from them on dmt-nexus or the intenet. Or give there addresses out to people on this site.

It would depend in which country your in, import/export laws etc. SWIM finds in the UK that it is usually the silly things like naptha and fumaric acid that are the hardest to get.

SWIMS FOAF is actually thinking of doing something along this vein next year along with some ethnos (not on the same site).

Regarding address collection it is easy enough for law enforcement to do a bit of 'enforcing' and request the data that they require from the site owner/ISP/Banks/paypal whatever. However if there is nothing illegal about what your are doing i.e DCM for paint stripping , naptha for refilling your Zippo, then there should be no worries.

Ordering chemicals online is not some government set up at least I don't see how the government could set up a fake company to sell chemicals to bust people who use them thats entrapment (but then again the government often doesn't care about its own laws). The government tracks chemicals that companies sell that are watched. Companies are required to tell the government (at least in the US) about if someone buys a watched chemical. I'm not sure if they report it first or they only report it if asked regardless thats how they keep track of someone ordering watched chemicals. If the chemical is not watched no red flags are raised unless an individual ordered an excessive amount.

Now concerning your plan. You will most likely to set up some kind of business so you have a legit reason to be selling these chemicals online. An online supply store. If you are selling watched chemicals in countries that have such laws such as the US you will have to report it if they ask. As far as I know its required if you sell watched chemicals to keep track of it. But I do think people would like having that safety knowing who's selling the chemical but I do think its a bit unfounded paranoia. If you are ordering watched chemicals yes they can find out so have a legit reason to use them. If you order lye have soap making material around etc.

Ok then that does make it easier. But also make sure you know what kinds of permission you need to sell solvents retail and you should be fine. Just make it professional and legit and no one should bother you.

You could make money doing that, but you need to get a special business license to handle flammable toxic chemicals. Selling flammable toxic chemicals without a special license is illegal in most places.

For example, a normal retail business can't sell acetone unless they've applied for a special hazardous material license. If forget what the license is called, but I don't think it's easy to get.

At the very least I can just sell NaOH and different sized wide mouth HDPE containers. That would be legit on its own, and if I could do otherstuff like 100% DCM, or fumaric acid, etc, that would be awsome.
