I've been making DMT for a while now and I usually store it in little plastic baggies. My technique is pretty good now: STB, with freeze precip, run through coffee filter, dry for a couple of hours while turning to remove all naphtha. It's usually off white when I bag it but goes a little yellow over time when stored in the dark in a cool place.

My question is though. The bag usually turns quite sticky On The Outside of the baggie. Even though sometimes it won't be touched for a a few weeks after prep. The product is still fine to smoke but this is quite strange. There shouldn't be any residual naphtha in the product and I'm using Ronsol which is the most recommended naphtha for the UK (No VM&P available).

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm going to get little viles to store it in as soon as I can but I just thought this was strange. How could the baggies be getting sticky on the outside?

I wouldn't put it into plastic bags. Try glass, plastic(not bags) or aluminum foil.
Make sure they are not in humid environment and in a dark and cool place(these help it not to become sticky). Silicone decissant will absorb moisture.

i don't like the idea of storing it in plastic bags, and have no idea why it would be sticky on the outside..i would just store the spice in a glass vial or something else

You can also try aluminum foil, fold it and put it into plastic bag with silicone decissant. If you want totally airtight, then glass jar.

I store all my goodies in black plastic 35mm film canisters. Seals airtight and is light proof too
Ask in a shop that develops film and they usually have hundreds to give away.

You extracted DMT you did not make DMT..or at least I highly doubt you have been MAKING DMT..sorry I just tend to read people saying that often and I always want to note the big difference between making something and extracting something.
