The presence of manufacturing oils, that people report of, had a bit of a negative taste for me. further i thought, if the steel wool used for this meshes is wider, its should hold less melting liquid then a fine wool as used in the pads i mentioned above, due to a increased surface area. but i might just give it a try! thanks for the advice, tele

Manufacturing oils are removed with a bit of heat or acetone(Better). It's the opposite. Increased surface area holds more liquid than fine wool. I really advice against using steel wool. Mesh is the way to go.

it seems that the only way for me to get mesh screens are to order off ebay and pay triple because of shipping, so i went with the steel wool as someone mentioned, but perhaps i should just order some chore boy, i would like to use the best items. i dont understand why there are no available products in australia, if anybody can help me out that would be appreciated, perhaps there is some local store i can order from online that i haven't been able to find. my name, is nobody.

If you can get hold of the steel ribbon scrubbers I think they are fine personally. I have never had any issues with being able to taste them and I have tried a couple of different ones. I usually heat them to red hot on a flame I have also do heated and given them a wash with water then IPA or acetone.

thanks Steel mesh is ok, but I doubt steel wool is. If you get chore boy copper mesh, it will last you for very long time. It's more than worth it IMO to get proper screen as it's one of the essential parts in vaporizing.

thanks tele, then my math might joked me here a bit. expected was mesh made of thinner wire = much more wire in use = results in more surface area in the end. thought, a mesh with the thousands of curves and loops in it that a thin wire mesh delievers, might hold better then the much less loops and curves a bigger wired mesh does. thanks for advice! SWIM gonna try both.

SWIM gonna try both. Mesh is the way to go. I suggest you make it proper size(about 3-5mm thick), so you can see light coming through the holes. You see, when the mesh is like ribbon, it has flat surface, and the liquid clings to it. If it's round it will easily fall through. DO NOT use steel wool.

thanks, tele. truly, i have to admit it seems obvious which mesh provides the bigger surface area.
your suggestion towards steel wool still leaves me curious, though i believe you - would you be so kind to point out its disadvantages? i'm curious what material is used in the volcano liquid pads, their website doesnt state it. not copper, though.

Stainless steel is the material of the liquid pads. about wool: https://www.dmt-nexus.me...&m=265149#post265149

Wait until you get your own place! That should be soon enough if you are 18 or older.
