Suggestions for Syrian Rue methods? (Or covering up the nasty taste of rue tea) Options

SO after a bit of searching around the site, I have found a few recurring methods for ingesting Syrian Rue:

1) grind up and put into gelcaps/variants, this from what I read, often leads to nausea, and most would rather not ingest the plant matter. There are variations of boiling down the tea and scraping the resin into gelcaps as well.

2) Tea - grind up rue, add lemon juice and boil for half hour, then filter and reduce to shot - Effective but damn that stuff is nasty, nasty, nasty. (Even when plugging the nose)

3) Chemical extractions (from the wiki)

4) grind up seeds, add cold water, lemon juice let to soak for a while in mason jar shaking occasionally strain and ingest.

-While all these methods work, I'm partial to the tea/shot method, mainly out of convenience, but as mentioned, that stuff is nasty. For some, the taste (and aftertaste) might be responsible for the nausea, and I am wondering what, if anything that could be added to make the taste a bit more tolerable?

forget the lemon and just brew in spring water..wont taste as discusting.

I cant believe the taste is responsible for the nausea. Harmine/harmaline is what is responciple for the nausea..as well as the DMT if you take it with it. I have had just as much nuasea with pure alkaloids as I have otherwise.

I'm not so sure.

After a few times of drinking rue tea, my brain connected the effects of rue with the taste and smell of rue. Since that moment I cannot smell a jar of rue without a gag reflex. If I keep smelling it I even get nauseous.

So for me the best solution is extracting the rue so I can cap it and take it orally without the, for me, sickening smell and the taste.

I agree about the brain connection. Just the thought of the stuff makes me gag. Net time I'll try it without the lemon juice.

Might have to break down and buy some gelcaps online.

As far as taste goes just a simple little tip is imo that it tastes a LOT better *chilled* and decanted in the fridge for a few days then it does as a warm tea. Gl m8

Any one got any more methods of drinking rue tea?

I am brewing my first tea, and put in a small lemon, hope it doesnt make it taste too horrible

HELP; i forgot to grind up the rue seeds before brew, will it still work, i am thinking of drinking seeds in all, 4grams first time.

you don't need to grind the seeds for the brew to work.
don't drink the seeds, filter those out, if you are nervous about any magic left in them, brew them in a small amount of clean water, and add that brew to yours and reduce it (after filtering the seeds and trashing those).

I decant and drink it cold mixed with juice.

Rue Tea Prep. (4 doses)
12g seeds, 1000mg Vitamin C tablet for acidity, 1 cup water.
Blend in very powerful blender for about a minute.
Microwave for 1.5 to 2 minutes.
Stir occasionally over an hour. Let sit overnight.
Pipette out liquid into 4 small jars for 3g dose in each jar. Refrigerate.

Takes about 5 minutes of my time to prepare, strong enough to activate spice orally for me. I don’t have nausea at this dosage.

To consume, I mix one dose of tea with strong flavored cold juice. Currently using Pomegranate/Cranberry. It ends up being about ¼ cup of rue tea and about ½ cup or more of juice. I think Rue smells worse then it taste, so I smell it as little as possible. I like to drink it over a 10 to 15 minute period. Just take a gulp every 5 minutes.

A gram of ginger boiled along with the rue has eliminated any nausea I experience with rue; but nausea was only mildly present for me anyway. A couple of OO caps of ginger 30 minutes before rue would suffice as well if you dislike the taste of ginger.

I was watching a McKenna video where he said you could grind up syrian rue seeds and smoke a 1/4 or 1/2 tsp in a pipe...........

I haven't seen any posts mentioning anything about that.

Anyone thats done that have any input?

Not sure if bringing back to life and old post it's a good idea, but I will try.

How about doing the following?

- Crush or powder the seeds
- Boil them with vitamin C or desired acidic element (I never tried vitamin C, but vinegar or lemon makes the taste horrible)
- After boiling, filter and discards the rests. Left the remaining liquid in the fridge or freezer to see if there is some phase formed in order to decant and re-filter
- Reduce to a desired amount and then, add jelly in order to slurp or gulp without (or almost without) feeling the nasty taste and eliminate the association of taste and smell with the vomit reflex

Did anybody try something like this?

Lol, if you go that far, you can just as well do a Manske on it and get the HCL crystals.

BTW: I always did cold extraction teas with Vit C. And I never got nausea. I also never got nausea from the extracted FB. I only get motion sickness.
I claim not that this is the truth. As this is just what got manifested into my mind at the current position in time on this physical plane. So please feel not offended by anything I say.

How much does it usually take to you when you use that Manske method to have the crystal ready?
