). I think the explanation that bright kids get bored and afraid when unchallenged and ostracized is the better explanation of why they are given to greater "drug" use in later life. At least under the parameters of that study, in which drugs are generally considered escapist and destructive.
I would like to see a study that correlates high pre-teen or adolescent IQ with later use of LSD, Mushrooms, Ayahuasca, mescaline and vaped DMT - that would likely be revealing!! (I purposefully did not list salvia - the multitude of youtube videos I have seen clearly indicate the opposite correlation with this particular plant
