since I have just been given full membership I have decided to post something in another section, since I can.

occasionally I get the urge to write, I especially enjoy doing it while in an altered state, here is a product of one of those times.

hope you enjoy and thanks for reading.

I'm having trouble opening the file - anyone else?

"Please do not link directly to this resource. You must have a session in the forum."

EDIT: I got it working nvm. I love Boards of Canada by the way - anyone who hasn't listened to these guys before seriously need to listen. Try Geogaddi.

I like your experimental writing, my friend - you paint very vivid imagery in the first part describing bottles, cigarette butts etc. Convey the apparent dissolution/fusion of self and other in the middle part. Love the outro, like a vivid prompting of a weekend now past like snapshots from a big weekend. I can relate. Thanks for sharing!

such kind words, i can feel my ego expanding at an alarming rate (quick someone give me a large hit of dmt!)

this is one short story i'm especially proud of, i have a couple of others and perhaps i'll upload them one at a time at other occasions.
i have tried to share these with people on other forums, but it seems that every time i do, only a couple of people download which ever story in question, and if i'm lucky i may get one comment on the thread, where the person is simply stating what the structure of the story is, perhaps not many people are open to more experimental writings rather than more conventional writings.

this post has been very uplifting and i'm very glad you liked my story. i enjoy sharing my creativity and i feel that people who evoke altered states would be more inclined to enjoy them.

i thank you and hope you have a lovely day.

No worries pal Pleased I think the main thing is that you must enjoy your own writing despite what others may think but of course if someone else can enjoy your creativity it's a real bonus.

I do a little experimental writing myself sometimes- I was messing around with automatic-drawing (had no real success with this at all) and this inevitably led to automatic writing. I found it was easy for me to write "I like..." and then sort make my mind kind of blank for a moment and see what the first thing pops into my head is. A little difficult to describe but I guess it's akin to a sort of emergence of information from a state of temporary sensory deprivation.

I'm not sure if there is a word for it, but it's kind of like Pareidolia - when a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant (like seeing images of animals or faces in clouds) - but I guess it's more like when the mind is exposed to nothingness it's screams for input of any sort and thus projects the first thing that springs to mind. Unlike pareidolia, this technique has no medium for a pattern to recognize and thus takes information from the mind itself.

Sometimes it's gibberish, sometimes it can be alarmingly revealing - but I thoroughly recommend you try it some time. I've never tried this on psychedelics but a few years ago I personally find it effective during a hangover and is especially exacerbated by caffeine.

I feel that this is somehow related to Intrusive Thoughts as some things that emerge can be quite the opposite of how you may feel about something, ie, these are not necessarily things that you like and you may find them a little disturbing. It is important to write everything down regardless, to be analysed later instead of during the moment of creation. Here are some a wrote a few years ago, but I have edited out some personal ones Pleased

I like ending up somewhere I didn’t intend to go.
I like doing things that aren’t always necessary
I like having to go to the bathroom
I like catching my self in the act
I like catching the train to the skybus
I like moving my self explicitly
I like thinking unawares
I like doing it slowly
I like seeing my name on paper
I like foraging for berries
I like dancing to someone else’s tune
I like to explicitly dance to someone else’s tune
I like having to go around a building
I like scathing comments
I like dropping things intentionally
I like watching my self
I like damaged goods
I like trying to seek approval
I like to scare myself
I like chasing gum trees through the forest
I like digging holes
I like helping out a stranger
I like it when I get touched
I like it when I get stuck in the rain
I like reading quietly
I like having nothing to do
I like enjoying myself
